Role: Senior Manager, Engineering
What you’ll do
- Act as a servant leader for one or multiple product teams. Identify high-performers and skill gaps across teams, and increase team autonomy through decision-making protocols.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for your teams that align with broader organizational goals. Establish clear KPIs to measure progress against the company vision.
- Define team workflows that balance high autonomy with high alignment. Adapt problem-solving methodologies to address issues spanning multiple teams.
- Foster a learning culture by establishing regular cross-team knowledge-sharing sessions and formal mentoring programs.
- Partner with Product Managers, Principal/Staff Engineers, and stakeholders to ensure roadmap delivery. Establish feedback loops to gather input and ensure cross-functional alignment.
What you’ll bring
- Proven ability to move beyond tactical execution to solve complex, systemic issues that have a company-wide impact. Experience in strategic resource allocation and initiative implementation.
- Deep experience in identifying and bridging skill gaps, managing career paths for diverse groups, and fostering a culture of high performance and psychological safety.
- Demonstrated ability to develop implementation plans for large-scale initiatives and navigate teams through organizational change with empathy and clear communication.
- A track record of creating structured frameworks for ideation, evaluation, and piloting of new technical or process improvements.
- Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to lead diverse stakeholders through root-cause analysis and collaborative decision-making processes.
- Solid, hands-on background in software engineering and operations, sufficient to challenge technical assumptions and support the growth of senior technical talent.
- Experience using hiring data and capacity planning to build diverse, effective teams that meet evolving organizational needs.
