About this job

We are currently looking for a Lead Systems Engineer – Ground Satellite Systems to join the team in Delft.

You don’t just imagine what’s next - you create it. As our Lead Systems Engineer – Ground Satellite Systems, you’ll take a central role in shaping and delivering the ground systems that enable next-generation space missions.

Main responsibilities

As our Lead Systems Engineer – Ground Satellite Systems, you’ll guide the full lifecycle of advanced satellite ground systems and mission payload systems. In close partnership with skilled developers, forward-looking customers, and mission-driven colleagues, you will:

Define and Manage Requirements

  • Work with stakeholders to shape software, hardware, processes, and procedural needs for future ground systems.

Design & Deliver

  • Lead the design, integration, and deployment of large-scale systems that meet mission-critical performance standards.

Develop & Implement

  • Create plans and procedures for integrating software and hardware into mission-critical environments, including simulators and flat-sat systems.

Oversee Testing

  • Direct integrated system test events, including mission simulations, to validate systems and procedures ahead of launch.

Support On-Orbit Operations

  • Prepare training material for operations teams and provide support during launch, early operations, nominal and contingency phases, testing, and overall mission success.

Drive Collaboration

  • Strengthen relationships with customers, teammates, and key stakeholders to foster innovation and excellence throughout the program.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts effectively.
  • Hands-on experience with ground systems and mission operations for operational small-sat missions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Expertise in UAV ISR mission areas.
  • Experience working with Ministry of Defence systems and stakeholders.
