Join one of the world’s most trusted Mother & Childcare brands and help design products used by millions of parents and babies worldwide. As a Junior Product Designer at Philips Avent, you will develop your craft as an all-round product designer — including CMF and UX/UI — while learning directly from highly experienced senior designers. You will work hands-on with engineers and user researchers to bring ideas to life, from early sketches to working prototypes with our global supplier network.

Your role

As part of the Philips Avent Experience Design team, you will work across a broad portfolio and the full design process — from fuzzy front end to final products ready for launch. You will take real ownership, contribute to award-winning product and CMF design, and collaborate closely with our lead designer and global innovation hubs.

You will:

  • Contribute to product design by balancing usability, form, function, CMF, UX/UI and feasibility in meaningful solutions for our users
  • Ideate and conceptualize through sketching, CMF exploration, CAD modeling, prototyping, visualization, and storytelling
  • Translate lifestyle trends, user insights, and aesthetic developments into inspiring design directions aligned with our product design language and the needs of young families
  • Design and integrate colors, materials, finishes, illustrations, decorations, and patterns that elevate the product experience
  • Create mood boards, renderings, and mock-ups to communicate concepts clearly and convincingly
  • Collaborate with R&D teams and suppliers in Europe and Asia, seeing your designs evolve into manufacturable products
  • Support CMF execution, including sample reviews, documentation, and hands-on refinement of design deliverables
  • Participate in early innovation explorations, helping shape future Philips Avent product experiences

This position is a fixed 1-year, part-time role (0.8 FTE, minimum 3 days per week on-site in Amsterdam) and offers a highly immersive learning environment with close mentorship and room to experiment, prototype, and grow.

What’s in it for you

  • Learn from some of Philips’ strongest senior designers in product design and CMF
  • Design products with global impact, trusted by parents in over 100 countries
  • Grow fast through hands-on prototyping, user testing, and real supplier feedback loops
  • Collaborate with innovation teams in Asia and gain insight into global manufacturing realities
  • Build a diverse portfolio spanning fast-moving consumer goods and smart devices
  • Strengthen your skills in product design, CMF, trend translation, illustration, and storytelling
  • Take on real responsibility from day one in a small, highly collaborative team
  • Help create meaningful experiences that support parents and babies worldwide

You’re the right fit if

  • You have 1–3 years of experience in product or industrial design, with experience in CMF design
  • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field
  • You are a T-shaped designer: strong in product design, form-giving and visualizing, with a clear affinity for CMF, aesthetics, trends, and visual storytelling
  • You enjoy exploring form, texture, color, and user experience — and translating them into concepts that resonate with parents and babies
  • You are proactive, hands-on, and practical, with experience in Adobe Creative Suite, 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Rhino), rendering tools (e.g. KeyShot), and prototyping methods
  • You are curious, open-minded, solution-oriented, but also work structured and meticulous, and you see feedback as a tool for growth
  • You thrive in collaborative environments and want to grow within a purpose-driven, globally recognized brand
  • Illustration or pattern design experience is a plus
