Are you passionate about turning insights into impact? Join CPP R&D as a Design Researcher and help shape the future of customer-focused innovation!

What You’ll Do

As a Design Researcher, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between user (latent) needs, market trends, and product development teams. You will uncover meaningful human-centered insights that inform design decisions, ensuring our solutions are intuitive, impactful, and aligned with real-world requirements.

Your work will not only focus on understanding individual users but also on analyzing broader customer behaviors and market dynamics to guide strategic design directions. In addition, you will use your creative skills to communicate insights effectively and develop innovative tools and methods that support research and design processes. As design researcher you are a member of the CPP design department, and working closely together with usability-, UX- and product designers.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Independently conduct qualitative and quantitative research (e.g. interviews, surveys, customer visits and data analysis) to understand user behaviors, customer needs, and market trends.
  • Translate research findings into actionable insights for design and development teams.
  • Communicate research outcomes, not only through clear reports and presentations, but also by creative means, storytelling etc.
  • Collaborate with product managers, business developers, architects, and designers to develop value propositions and product stories, using your strength to make the implicit, explicit.
  • Bring new perspectives and inspiration to the organization by looking at the outside world with fresh eyes.
  • Organize and facilitate workshops, focus groups and creative sessions with stakeholders, customers and user.
  • Design and implement tools and methods that enhance research.

Who You’ll Work With

You will join an international organization with a flat hierarchy and an open, creative, multidisciplinary environment. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across departments, including product designers, UX designers, usability specialists, business developers, and architects, all working together to shape the future of our products.

What You Bring

We’re looking for a collaborative, curious team player who brings the following:

  • A master’s or bachelor’s degree in design related fields (e.g. Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, Psychology, Cultural Anthropology)
  • Experience in design research or user experience research and familiarity with research tools and methodologies (e.g., interviewing, ethnographic studies, surveys).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an understanding of market and customer analysis.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling abilities, including creative approaches to visualizing insights.
  • Ability to develop and apply innovative tools and methods to support research and design.
  • Collaborative and empathic mindset and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment and building long-term customer intimacy.
  • We value candidates who speak multiple languages (English is our corporate language); knowledge of Dutch, French and German is a plus.

What You’ll Get From Us

We provide an exciting, dynamic work environment with plenty of opportunity for you to develop personally and professionally. We offer excellent conditions to help you be who you want to be:

  • A competitive salary in line with your educational background and experience
  • 38 vacation days
  • Extra 13th month pay (8,6%), holiday allowance (8%) and commuting allowance
  • Hybrid working for a healthy work-life balance
  • A huge range of training and professional development opportunities
  • A laptop and smartphone
  • An interesting lease (e-)bike plan
