Software Developer - Klicon

About the role

For our product Klicon, we are looking for an enthusiastic C# / .NET Software Developer who wants to contribute to both the maintenance and further development of this innovative application.

Klicon plays a crucial role in the automated processing of excavation notifications (KLIC reports) received from the Dutch Cadastre (Kadaster). By doing so, we help network operators prevent damage to underground infrastructure and ensure the continuity of vital networks.

As a developer, you will work on reliable software that is used daily by network operators to process KLIC notifications. You combine technical expertise with insight into GIS and KLIC processes to optimally support our customers.

What will you do?

• Maintain and further develop the Klicon application
• Design, build, and test new functionalities in C# / .NET
• Work with GIS data and databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL), including writing SQL queries
• Contribute ideas to improve performance, usability, and automation
• Maintain contact with customers to translate requirements and improvement opportunities into practical solutions

What do you bring?

Requirements

• Demonstrable knowledge of C# and .NET
• Experience with SQL
• Knowledge of GIS systems such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, QGIS, or MapInfo

Nice to have

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain customer relationships
• Knowledge of KLIC standards (IMKL and BMKL)
• Affinity with and knowledge of the KLIC environment
• Experience with databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL)
• Experience with or knowledge of excavation notification processes, network management, and automated data processing

About Klicon

Excavation work can involve major risks if the locations of cables and pipelines are unknown. Klicon fully automates the processing of excavation notifications from the Dutch Cadastre, from receipt to data feedback.

Through web services, Klicon automatically analyses each notification and ensures that the correct information is returned. This saves our customers time, costs, and risks.

By converting files from systems such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and MapInfo, all data is centrally stored in an database. This allows notifications to be searched and analysed very quickly.

The Speer IT servicedesk monitors the processes within Klicon and proactively intervenes when issues occur.
