As a highly skilled Software Engineer industrialization & quality at Delft Circuits you will play a key role at the heart of our organization, working at the intersection of process development, product development, research, and manufacturing. You will collaborate closely with colleagues on and around the production floor, building software tools that operators, engineers, and quality teams rely on every day. This is not a traditional software role: you will take ownership of the full lifecycle of internal tools, from shaping requirements to deployment and long-term reliability.

At Delft Circuits, we’re pushing the boundaries of cryogenic electronics with our flagship Cri/oFlex® platform—the world’s first fully integrated cryogenic I/O solution for quantum computing. Based in Delft, Netherlands, our diverse team of engineers, physicists, and innovators combines deep technical expertise with an open, collaborative culture — where ideas are shared, challenges are tackled head-on, and impact is real.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Build Software for Production & Quality

  • Develop and maintain inline quality control (QC) and measurement software used daily on the manufacturing floor
  • Create fast, intuitive, and robust GUIs for operators
  • Integrate production tools with databases and Odoo (e.g. pulling designs, storing measurements, tracking quality data)
  • Add automation and analytics to improve speed, quality, and throughput

Machine Control & Custom Tooling

  • Extend and maintain custom machine-adjacent software (e.g. geometry handling, panelization, exports, machine-level control)
  • Improve workflow robustness, usability, and performance
  • Build internal tools that directly increase production reliability

Ownership of the Full Software Lifecycle

  • Gather requirements from multiple stakeholders (manufacturing, process development, research, system engineering)
  • Design software architectures and make pragmatic technical choices
  • Deploy tools, write documentation, and train users
  • Provide hands-on support when issues occur on the production floor
  • Maintain and evolve tools as production scales

Help Shape Our Software Landscape

  • Propose and implement data pipelines and database structures
  • Bring clarity to how data is stored, retrieved, verified, and visualized
  • Influence software best practices within a hardware-driven organization

What you bring:

Technical Skills

  • Strong Python skills (primary language within the company)
  • Experience interfacing software with hardware, lab equipment, or measurement systems
  • Ability to build stable, operator-friendly GUIs
  • Solid understanding of data structures, APIs, and database design
  • Experience deploying internal tools (packaging, documentation, training)
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience

Ways of Working

  • Comfortable owning projects end-to-end: from vague request to working solution
  • Able to juggle input from multiple teams and translate it into clear priorities
  • Strong communicator who enjoys engaging with users on the production floor
  • Pragmatic mindset: balances clean engineering with real-world constraints
  • Hands-on, independent, and self-organizing

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience with web applications or dashboards
  • Familiarity with CAD, geometry processing, or penalization workflows
  • Background in manufacturing, industrial automation, or production environments
  • Experience working with Odoo or similar ERP systems

Why join Delft Circuits

At Delft Circuits, we work as a team to develop cutting-edge hardware for quantum technologies, and you will connect software, manufacturing and quality, and directly influence how our products are built at scale. You will be part of a diverse and international team in a collaborative environment that values inventive “beyond-the-box” thinking. We offer:

  • A full-time position (36 hours per week)
  • A competitive salary based on experience (€ 52.539 – € 67.163 per year, including 8% annual holiday allowance in May)
  • CAO Metalektro
  • Pension scheme (PME)
  • Travel reimbursement (choose between € 0,23/ km or public transport subscription)
  • 30 vacation days per year
  • A pivotal role in scaling up a quantum-industry production line
  • A tight-knit team that blends physics, engineering, and hands-on manufacturing
  • You’ll be working from our headquarters at the Kabeldistrict in Delft, featuring a 200 m² lab, a workshop, dedicated assembly and testing areas, and a modern office space.

Together with our customers, like national laboratory, a Blue-chip corporation, or an ambitious professor, Delft Circuits makes quantum technologies a reality. Our i/o modules can be found in quantum computers, quantum internet devices and in (quantum based) sensors.
We’re about 40 people working in teams, ranging from R&D to Design and Production. Our atmosphere breathes enthusiasm and creativity - building our products and company together!
