DLA Piper are looking for an Inclusion Specialist to support the Head of Culture & Inclusion in leading the delivery of the client approach inclusion strategy aligned to the International firm.
You will be responsible for leading specific Inclusion initiatives and projects that support the firms client approach and position the firm as a leader for Inclusion. You will proactively collaborate with and provide current and leading edge subject matter expertise and support to the client Partners and Marketing and Business Development Team. You will also lead on the firms external inclusion partnerships and internal People Networks.
You will support the delivery of the firms Inclusion strategy across all groups and geographies (international coverage) which will position the firm as a truly inclusive global business law firm. This means paying close attention to our global audiences, applying sensitivity and diligence in interpreting and meeting their needs.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Contribute actively to the delivery of firm-wide Inclusion priorities and action plans
- Provide specialist expertise to support local People & Inclusion initiatives and Business Development activities
- Act as an international ambassador for the firm in respect of Inclusion, including the management of relationships within the legal sector and in cross-sector network
- Cultivate strong relationships with client partners to understand their unique culture and inclusion needs and objectives.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging challenges in the field of inclusion.
- Collaborate with and provide current and leading edge subject matter expertise and support to the client Partners and Markets and Business Development Team.
Specific duties will include:
Client engagement
- As required, provide specific Inclusion content/data to support pitch/RFP requests, including data gathering and analysis
- Serve as the main point of contact for client inquiries, concerns, and feedback related to inclusion.
- Increase capability and confidence on the Inclusion agenda in the client Partner and Markets and Business Development (MBD) community
- Embed the client approach framework, ensuring consistency in our strategic approach
Data Analytics
- Lead on the delivery of inclusion reporting and insights (i.e. client requests such as UK MDS, and other mandatory reporting)
- Create and draw conclusions from relevant metrics and analytics in order to inform action and investment decisions
- Leverage relevant insights from engagement/pulse surveys
- Increase self-service uptake across the client Partner and MBD community
External/Internal Engagement
- Proactively collaborate with internal People Networks to develop and deliver engaging activity and increase reach across the international firm
- Serve as the main point of contact for external partnerships with expert organisations, such as Business Disability Forum and Catalyst, to ensure our people have access to resources and knowledge, and embed the partnerships into inclusion activity and projects
Coaching & development
- Develop and deliver engaging presentations, workshops, and training sessions for client partners and the MBD teams in line with the agreed client approach model
- Collaborate with the MBD team to increase capability and accountability within the client Partner and MBD community
- Provide ongoing support and resources to help clients foster inclusive workplaces, addressing challenges and promoting a positive DEI culture.
- Collaborate with client partners to promote inclusion-related events and initiatives, both internally and externally.
About you
- Have a demonstratable track record in project management, operations and supplier responsibility and management.
- Exhibit cultural curiosity and competence, show that they identify with the firm, its objectives and values.
- Have in-depth understanding of inclusion concepts, challenges and best practices.
- Confidence in reporting and interpreting people-related metrics and the ability to analyse data to measure the impact of initiatives.
- Innovative mindset with the ability to think strategically and drive positive change.
- Have experience of working in international teams/environments. Be comfortable multi-tasking and working to sometimes conflicting timescales and multiple priorities.
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Be able to exercise empathy, discretion and sensitivity.
Please note: this is fixed term contract for 12 months.
