Role Overview: The Health & Safety Officer is responsible for leading and overseeing workplace health and safety programs to ensure full compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and organisational policies. The role involves conducting risk assessments, managing incident investigations, developing safety procedures, training staff, and driving a proactive safety culture across Filoform, Geldermalsen.

What our new ‘Health & Safety Senior Officer’ will be doing:

• Risk Management: Lead development and implementation of Risk Inventory & Evaluation (RI&E) for NL and risk assessments for DE sites; ensure Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and procedures comply with Dutch and German HS legislation, and CRH Life Saving Rules.
• Incident Management: Conduct thorough investigations of incidents, injuries, and high potential near misses; ensure statutory notifications to Dutch Labour Authority and German authorities (BG/DGUV) are completed accurately and on time.
• Compliance & Auditing: Perform internal audits against safety management system and CRH lifesaving rules; monitor compliance with national legislation, accident prevention regulations, and CRH safety management system requirements.
• Contractor Safety: Maintain robust contractor management systems; verify compliance with IPE safety rules and requirements.
• Chemical Safety: Ensure chemical management systems meet Dutch and German hazardous substances regulations.
• Training & Awareness: Deliver mandatory safety training (including emergency response, LOTOTO, PPE use, etc.); maintain training records per CRH and local law.

Reports to: SHEQ Director

The experience our new ‘Health & Safety Officer’ will have includes:

• Minimum 3 years in H&S roles within manufacturing or industrial environments
• At least an MVK degree
• Demonstrated knowledge of Dutch Arbowet; knowledge of German Arbeitsschutzgesetz is a plus
• Fluent in Dutch & English, both written and verbal
