About Mind Your Waste

Mind Your Waste (MYW) is a European company focused on waste management and EU Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) compliance, including the coordination and administration of waste-related activities across multiple European markets.

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Compliance Intern to support our EU EPR and waste-compliance activities, with a specific focus on China–EU business operations.

This role is ideal for someone who:

• Speaks Chinese (Mandarin) and English
• Understands Chinese business culture
• Has basic knowledge of EPR or is able and willing to learn quickly
• Wants hands-on experience in EU regulatory compliance and sustainability

You will work closely with senior team members and gain real exposure to marketplace compliance, regulatory interpretation, and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

EU EPR & Waste Compliance

• Support EU EPR compliance (packaging, WEEE, batteries)
• Assist with country-by-country compliance mapping
• Help prepare registrations, reporting overviews, and compliance summaries
• Monitor and track regulatory updates across EU Member States

China–EU Business Support

• Support communication with Chinese-speaking partners or stakeholders
• Help translate EU regulatory requirements into clear, business-friendly explanations
• Act as a cultural bridge between Chinese companies and EU compliance expectations

Research & Documentation

• Research EU waste and EPR obligations for international sellers
• Support internal compliance documentation and trackers
• Assist with presentations, summaries, and briefing materials

Operational Support

• Maintain internal compliance overviews and dashboards
• Support coordination with external partners, PROs, and stakeholders
• Assist with ad-hoc compliance and operations tasks

What We’re Looking For

Required

• Chinese (Mandarin) speaking (written & verbal)
• Good command of English
• Understanding of Chinese business culture
• Basic understanding of EPR and waste compliance, or strong willingness and ability to learn quickly
• Structured, detail-oriented, and reliable
• Comfortable working in an international, professional environment

Nice to Have

• Background in law, business, sustainability, supply chain, or international studies
• Familiarity with e-commerce, marketplaces, or cross-border trade
• Interest in environmental regulation and compliance
