The Cefetra Group consists of various agricultural and food ingredients trading and supply chain management companies, with leading brands within the ingredients business. Collectively we employ over 700 people across 35 offices in 20 countries around the world. We work closely together to guarantee the best possible service to our customers. We develop supply chains with suppliers and create value by sourcing raw materials and supplying those to the international food and feed industry.

The job
In a dynamic and rapidly changing environment, Cefetra relies on a strong legal foundation to support its ambitions. As Legal Counsel, you will provide legal advice and support on commercial and corporate matters, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You will maintain accurate corporate housekeeping, act as a trusted advisor to business units, and play a key role in contract negotiations and risk management. This position also offers the opportunity to deepen your expertise in complex transactions and actively contribute to strategic projects across the organization.

Your responsibilities include:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements (including supply, service, and distribution contracts, NDAs, and transaction documentation).
• Advising internal stakeholders on legal risks and compliance requirements.
• Supporting dispute resolution and managing claims, in collaboration with external counsel where necessary.
• Assisting in corporate governance matters and regulatory filings.
• Contributing to strategic projects such as joint ventures, financing, and M&A transactions.
• Maintaining and optimizing the insurance portfolio, including efficient claims handling.

You should also identify with the following requirements:

• You hold a law degree.
• You bring at least 4 years of experience in corporate and commercial law, ideally gained within an international business environment.
• You have a proven track record in contract negotiation and regulatory compliance. Proven experience with corporate housekeeping is considered a plus.
• You communicate fluently in both Dutch and English, with excellent written and verbal skills; proficiency in additional languages is considered an asset.
• You are proficient in MS Office and enthusiastic about exploring and expanding the use of AI within the Legal Department’s workstream.
