Project Regulatory Manager

Purpose

  • The Project Regulatory Manager is a key role within SBM Projects and GRS Offices worldwide, responsible for ensuring adherence to global regulatory requirements and promoting regulatory discipline into the projects.
  • You lead and provide support to a team of Project Regulatory Engineers, Site Engineers and Inspectors, closely collaborating with cross-functional teams including Group Functions, Engineering, Procurement, Operations, Construction, Commissioning Managers, Class, and external partners to ensure seamless integration and implementation of regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Define, interpret, verify, and coordinate the interfaces between legislation/regulators, the client, and the project team.
  • Identify all applicable legislations, regulations, and rules to ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate and monitor the timely implementation of the regulatory requirements during the different phases of the project.
  • Raise awareness of the regulatory requirements among key personnel within the project team to ensure understanding and adherence.
  • Identify the regulatory training requirements for the project team to ensure everyone is equipped with the necessary knowledge.
  • Follow the Regulatory Query process in line with GEMS, using the appropriate communication protocols to ensure clarity and compliance.
  • Prepare regulatory handover packages for the operations team, ensuring the smooth transition to maintaining permits and consents during operation.
  • Liaise to meet contractor regulatory objectives and support the overall development goals of the project.
  • Systematically track assigned actions and effectively verify the completion of all regulatory management tasks.
  • Manage reviews, findings, surveys, and audits required as part of the applicable regulatory acceptance processes.
  • Report the status of regulatory management activities throughout the EPCI cycle of the project.
  • Produce the FPSO Regulatory Management Plan and develop a framework to ensure that all relevant rules and regulations have been identified, and that changes in regulations are assessed and incorporated when appropriate.
  • Provide all necessary answers, evidence, and updates to the company for management, and report on the progress of closure for any associated contractor actions.
  • Ensure that regulatory certificates and deliverables issued during the design, construction, and delivery phases meet the requirements of the project.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Naval Engineering.

Experience

  • 10 years experience in the offshore industry.
  • Fluent in English (writing and speaking).

SBM Offshore provides floating production solutions to the offshore energy industry, over the full product life-cycle. The Company is market leading in leased floating production systems with multiple units currently in operation and has unrivalled operational experience in this field. The Company’s main activities are the design, supply, installation, operation and the life extension of Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels. These are either owned and operated by SBM Offshore and leased to its clients or supplied on a turnkey sale basis.
