Role Description:
We're looking for an experienced Insurance Risk Analyst who will help lead the risk coordination for all our protection products globally to ensure they scale safely, consistently, and in line with risk appetite. You will act as the day-to-day owner of cross-functional risk management to enable the safe scaling and running of protection products, including governance and exposure tracking.
Key Responsibilities
Product Scaling Support
- Act as the embedded risk lead for new product launches and commercial scaling
- Translate legal, tax, and compliance requirements into actionable product rules and flows
- Coordinate go-to-market risk deliverables (e.g. eligibility, pricing guardrails, control steps)
- Identify and pre-empt risks that could delay launches or create exposure
Cross-Functional Ownership
- Serve as the primary Risk liaison across Commercial, Product, Legal, Finance, Compliance, and Ops
- Drive alignment on approvals, risk ownership, escalation paths, and defensible decision-making
- Support international expansion and partner onboarding from a risk and compliance perspective
- Ensure operational processes reflect risk decisions and are traceable across systems and teams
Product Risk Oversight
- Own the implementation of product-level risk appetite, limits, and monitoring logic
- Maintain visibility of in-life exposure, control performance, and risk indicators
- Flag emerging risks and coordinate mitigations or escalations where needed
- Represent the second line in ongoing product operations and change processes
Governance & Monitoring
- Maintain risk appetite statements, thresholds, and control maps
- Track key risk metrics (claims, cancellations, limits) and surface variances or breaches
- Lead and document incident reviews, remediation actions, and post-launch health checks
- Support risk governance forums and working groups with structured inputs and updates
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare inputs for dashboards, steering packs, and audit requests
- Maintain a traceable log of product changes, risk sign-offs, and decisions
- Ensure governance materials (SLAs, eligibility, pricing assumptions) are complete and current
- Contribute to scalable risk documentation practices for future product lines
Reinsurance & Capital Strategy
- Support the Insurance Risk Manager in the design and implementation of risk transfer strategy
- Includes engagement with reinsurance brokers, reinsurers and internal stakeholders such as finance
Stakeholder Engagement
- Support team interactions with key functions such as Product, Finance, Legal, and Compliance
- Help prepare inputs for stakeholder updates, working sessions, and governance forums
- Assist in summarising risk findings, decisions, and open issues for internal communications
- Build confidence engaging with cross-functional teams through clear, well-prepared contributions

- Build core skills in risk analysis, exposure monitoring, and product governance
- Contribute to well-scoped workstreams under the guidance of more senior team members

Requirements of Special Knowledge/Skills
Risk Management
- Exposure to reinsurance or risk financing is a plus
- Supports data prep and research for safe scaling and monitoring
