Introduction to the job

The goal of competence engineering is to enable our field service engineers to be successful in supporting our customers. You will function as the technical interface between CS local sites and ASML Headquarters. In this role, you have full responsibility for the service mix that is required to diagnose, repair, and recover ASML systems installed at our customer fabs.

Role and responsibilities

  • Service Mix Maintenance: Drive updates and improvements across the Service Mix, collaborate with different stakeholders, and serve as a key user on diagnostics.
  • Issue resolution: Gather and analyze relevant information to (re)solve issues independently, considering key business drivers like service costs, availability, productivity, and yield.
  • Problem Handover: Document and communicate problem details to relevant teams, ensuring ownership, clear proposals, and follow-up.
  • Repairs: Provide expert guidance to customers and support teams on complex repairs, parts replacement, and service improvements.
  • Training & Mentorship: Support and deliver training as a Subject Matter Expert, mentoring junior engineers on effective techniques.
  • Process Optimization: Lead improvement initiatives, engaging key stakeholders, and guiding junior engineers in process enhancements.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Foster knowledge exchange within and across teams.
  • New Product Introduction: Secure design for serviceability in early product development.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical field (electrical technology, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, etc.) or comparable thinking and working level.
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry preferred.
  • Specialized knowledge in mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, optics, embedded systems, semiconductor processes, and relevant software.
  • Experience in using computer applications, including data analysis tools, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
  • Mature knowledge of SCN WH and specialized cross-competence knowledge of main/sub modules, product functionality.
  • Experience with stakeholder management and affinity with working in a matrix organization.
  • Strong technical background, interested in high-tech products and processes.
