Join Haskoning as a Senior Structural Engineer

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you’ll work on challenging projects that make a real difference in the industry. You’ll have the chance to take responsibility for designs, guide others, push boundaries, and contribute to practical, high-quality solutions within a supportive and talented team.

What you will do as a Senior Structural Engineer

  • Perform structural analysis and design for a wide range of projects, ensuring safety, sustainability, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Undertake preliminary feasibility studies, prepare Basis of Design and specification documents, develop design documentation and reporting from concept through to detailed design.
  • Support, guide, and mentor junior team members with project engineering work and their professional development.
  • Actively share knowledge.
  • Check and review other engineers’ work, as required.
  • Actively work on your internal network.
  • Manage and deliver small to medium projects.
  • Contribute to the preparation of commercial, technical, and financial proposals to undertake major and minor engineering projects.
  • Assist where appropriate in business development (meeting potential or actual clients, writing capability statements, preparing marketing materials).
  • Undertake site visits and travel as required.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, codes, and technologies, and apply them to optimize project outcomes.
  • Work at least 3 days a week in the office, Delft or Amersfoort.

As our new Senior Structural Engineer, you will become part of the team Maritime & Renewables in the Netherlands. You will work in multidisciplinary teams alongside experts in hydraulic engineering, geotechnics, nautical engineering, and mechanical engineering.

What you bring

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you possess high-level knowledge and experience in designing and dimensioning hydraulic and maritime structures. You thrive in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic work environment. Your creativity shines when coming up with clever and innovative solutions – you dare to think beyond standard approaches and regulations. Additionally, you're motivated to continuously grow in your field of expertise.

You also meet the following criteria:

  • Civil or structural engineering degree (or equivalent).
  • More than 10 years’ experience in structural design and engineering.
  • Familiarity with key industry guidelines, codes, and specifications.
  • Client liaison and development, with a high level of care for client satisfaction and relationship building.
  • Experience with writing proposals, planning, and running small to medium-sized projects.
  • Able to consistently deliver quality, accurate, and timely work.
  • Excellent verbal and writing communication skills in English, including hosting/facilitating meetings/workshops.
  • Excellent self-management skills and experience in leading, teaching, mentoring, and managing small project teams.
  • Interest in innovation, digitization, and automation of calculation and design processes.
  • Experience in calculations for existing structures is a plus.
  • Contribute to the growth of the business by identifying opportunities.
