Fullstack engineer at NNB Shared Business Solutions (Freelance)

Join our Shared Business Solutions (SBS) team as a freelance professional and help shape the future of our technology landscape.

Within SBS, we build and maintain critical functionalities used across multiple departments and deliver them as a service. Our team plays a pivotal role in NN Bank’s strategic pillars of standardisation and simplification, providing critical services that support various business areas.

For this assignment, you’ll work with NN’s modern tech stack, including serverless AWS solutions, TypeScript, Lambdas, and Step Functions.

We are looking for someone who can combine full-stack development with DevOps responsibilities, compliance and documentation tasks, and requirements analysis.

What you are going to do

Your primary focus will be leveraging technologies and tools like Node.js, Typescript, and AWS to create new solutions and convert or expand functionality in pre-existing applications, ensuring compliance and security controls are implemented and documented.

The team owns just a few services, most of them written in Typescript (some in Python) and using serverless solutions in AWS, with Lambdas and Step Functions.

Since the team is quite young, there is a good amount of energy invested in refining and investigating details for future applications we want to build.

Who you are

You are a curious, eager-to-learn engineer who thrives in agile environments and enjoys solving complex challenges. You also bring:

• Proven experience working in a corporate environment, ideally within the financial services sector, with a strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements
• 5+ years of experience in software development and strong proficiency in full-stack development with TypeScript, Node.js, and React
• Experience with AWS (Lambda, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, etc.)
• Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines is a plus
• Experience with Ops (serverless, CI/CD pipelines, observability, configuration management, compliance, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills in English (B2+)

Who you will work with

You will work within a small team consisting of two experienced software engineers and a Product Owner. Due to the nature of the centralised solutions we create for NN Bank, you will collaborate with many colleagues across different departments, particularly other engineers and architects. All our tech departments are international, with English as the primary language.
