Make your mark as Marine Engineer at Boskalis Offshore Energy - Marine Services by being the linking pin between project preparation and project execution. Using your expertise and experience in maritime projects, you will independently work on various aspects of a project. You will take care of high-level mooring, stability and weight analyses, deal with towing and different installation manuals, manage aspects like safety, planning, procurement and permits, and maintain contacts with local authorities to ensure that high-quality projects can be realized within the agreed requirements. Activities can be project related or related to the development of the MS Fleet.

Being part of a project team, you know how to communicate efficiently on different levels to achieve your goals. Some of the projects this team has worked on include the WindPlus Project, close to the coast of Portugal, and the Decommissioning of the Fluminense in Brazil.

Your responsibilities as Marine Engineer are:

  • Executing engineering tasks related to the MS Fleet concerning requests from clients and projects, including but not limited to: structural, bollard pull, lifting, and stability calculations.
  • Liaising with all involved parties (project- and tender-support, operations, SHE-Q, fleet-management, procurement, etc.) to ensure that engineering questions are solved, resulting in a safe way of working on the vessels.
  • Assisting the charter desk with developing tow manuals and keeping track of the quality of the vessel manuals.

Your qualities and experience as Marine Engineer are:

  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience in an international, dynamic project environment
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, preferably in offshore/marine technology or naval architecture
  • A team player mentality
  • Willingness to travel globally (approx. 4 times a year)

The following competencies are also important for the role:

  • You are able to inspire enthusiasm in others and encourage others to take initiative and responsibility in order to achieve objectives. You assert your ideas and are able to gain support and commitment from others.
  • You take decisions based on analysis, knowledge, experience, and judgement, and you are committed to these decisions.
