Boskalis is currently looking for a student to start their practical internship with us.

Business Unit Fleet Management

The Fleet Management department manages a diverse fleet of Offshore vessels, such as Heavy Marine Transport vessels, Dive Support vessels, Barges, Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessels, Construction Support vessels, Barges and Pontoons, which are working worldwide. Each vessel has a technical superintendent assigned to ensure the vessels are well maintained, equipped, certified and capable to execute projects.

You will work in close contact with supporting departments of the Fleet Management Department such as SHEQ, Finance, Crewing, Procurement and Certificate department.

Internship responsibilities

As an intern within a Fleet Team, you will play a supportive role in the processes of daily management of the fleet, together with the Vessel Manager and Technical Superintendents, and you report to the Fleet Manager. You will support the Fleet Team to ensure compliance of the fleet and keep documentation and reporting to the required standards, managing administration and logistical and procurement follow up.

In this internship you will work alongside the technical superintendent to support the day-to-day management of vessel operations and technical documentation. You will assist in monitoring equipment performance, help coordinate maintenance activities, and support in updating operational records. Under the guidance of the team, you will gain hands-on experience with technical processes, learn about compliance with safety and environmental standards, and contribute to the preparation of reports and data analysis for ongoing projects. This internship offers the opportunity to develop practical skills in a dynamic maritime environment while learning directly from experienced professionals.

Your qualities

  • You are doing a HBO bachelor program in the Netherlands in maritime technology, mechanical engineering, maritime officer or maritime logistic management or other related field.
  • A good command of written and spoken English.

  • You show commitment and active engagement with projects and teams, while on the other hand you are self-reliant and capable of working independently.
