Your challenge

As a software engineer, you will design, test and build new functionalities for our clients. Your challenge is to further develop and maintain the applications, data and security architecture. You will work in the domain of validated and enriched location data of charging stations around the world. The main language experience that we are looking for is PHP (experience with Go would be a huge plus as we’re slowly transitioning towards it). Activities include:

  • Rebuilding critical components of our systems to be ready for the future;
  • Proactively identify and propose opportunities to improve the architecture and systems (performance, scalability, security, etc.);
  • Provide input on priorities and (jointly) manage the roadmap.

Job requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on PHP (Laravel) development on professional projects (for businesses or open source).
  • Familiarity with our stack is a plus: PHP (Laravel), Go, Gitlab-CI, Google Cloud Platform, MySQL, Postgres, Kubernetes, Docker, and more. We expect experienced candidates to quickly learn new tools if needed.
  • Experience with testing and a passion for code maintainability and readability.
  • Accountable, an effective communicator, and a true team player.
  • Growth mindset: open to feedback, eager to learn, and always in sync with the latest technical advancements.

What you get

  • Competitive salary;
  • Fun international team and frequent events;
  • Dynamic scale-up vibe and lots of opportunities to make an impact;
  • Our own office, next to Utrecht Central Station. We have a hybrid way of working with 3 days from the office and 2 days from home, with Monday and Thursday as our mandatory office days and free healthy lunch;
  • 25 vacation days;
  • Membership of MyWheels EV car sharing service;
  • Learning & Development opportunities;
  • Laptop and noise-canceling headphones from Eco-Movement;
  • A role with a lot of freedom, challenge, and opportunity – no dull moments, guaranteed!
