Job Description

The Field Inventory Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate, compliant and optimized management of Stryker’s consignment and field inventory at customer sites. You will be responsible for executing the annual inventory plan, coordinating with hospitals and internal teams, performing detailed product counts, and analysing discrepancies to improve stock accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute field inventory counts across hospitals and clinics for sterile implants, non-sterile implants, and instrument sets.
  • Co-develop the annual inventory count plan with the manager, assessing account priorities, customer risk levels and operational constraints to optimize efficiency and coverage.
  • Manage and coordinate appointments with hospital logistics teams, operating room staff, and Stryker sales representatives, ensuring minimal disruption to clinical activity.
  • Perform detailed reconciliations by comparing physical counts with system data, identifying variances, and conducting root-cause analysis with both customers and sales teams.
  • Execute inventory adjustments (transfers, corrections, write-offs, expiries) in Oracle using the AIM platform, ensuring full accuracy and audit compliance.
  • Produce and share reports summarizing count results, discrepancies, expiration risk and recommended actions with internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Identify opportunities for inventory optimization, such as reducing excess stock, improving rotation, avoiding expiries and present data-driven recommendations.
  • Act as Stryker’s representative during site visits, maintaining strong professional conduct and developing trust-based relationships to support long-term partnerships.

Who You Are

Essential requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in inventory management, field operations, or hospital logistics, ideally with responsibility for physical stock counts and reconciliation.
  • Professional experience in the medical device, healthcare, or hospital environment, with understanding of sterile vs non-sterile materials, traceability, and clinical logistics.
  • Proven ability to work under strict compliance frameworks including ISO standards, audit processes, or regulated documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships with hospital staff, sales teams, and cross-functional colleagues.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English, both required for customer-facing communication and internal collaboration.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently (around 80%) across the Benelux region.

Preferred requirements:

  • Previous experience working with medical implants, surgical instruments, or regulated healthcare products, with understanding of expiration risks and handling requirements.
  • Good level of French, highly appreciated for interactions in Belgium.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office and hands-on experience using ERP systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain, biomedical engineering, or equivalent professional formation.
  • Ability to support training, onboarding, or coaching of junior team members or new colleagues.
