Introduction to the Role

A very interesting position for an engineer who feels challenged in improving the production process to ensure product quality, short lead-times, high efficiency and ‘short time to market’ for Production.

Sequence Group Mission

As sequence engineers, we connect all our production steps end to end and optimize our production sequence in order to enable our technicians to build and test our systems as quickly and easily as possible.

Job Mission

To support new product introductions and drive products to mature (volume) production within a maximum of 5 iterations. Lead cross-competence improvement initiatives. Develop and apply methods of measuring the performance of the production process. Support Production to ensure product quality, short lead-times, and ‘short time to market’.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Production Sequence Engineer within LAB TF, your responsibilities include:

  • Sequence Ownership:
    • Create, maintain, and improve manufacturing sequences for DUV (XT and NXT, including refurb) products.
    • Validate and improve sequences for NPI products.
    • Verification of BOM and preparation of material allocation to ensure delivery to the shop floor.
    • Create a refurb sequence according to design specifications.
    • Support introduction of major production process improvements (Non-PGP).
    • Prepare and facilitate the sequence alignment meeting.
    • Be the single point of contact for Production and Development Engineers regarding Scanner build & test sequences.
    • Validation of work preparation in the Twinscan Factory.
    • Align your work with our customer: Manufacturing, to fulfill the TF requirements.
  • New Product Introduction:
    • Apply your knowledge to (new) product or process development projects to foresee production problems in the design phase and improve the manufacturability of the product and test design.
  • Continuous Improvement and Major Process Improvement:
    • Continuously adapt and optimize operating instructions, process flow charts, routings, process parameters, and indicators.
    • Analyze the production process (cycle time and labor hours), identify structural problems and bottlenecks, develop suggestions for improvements, and initiate their implementation, often in close cooperation with departments such as Development, Supply Chain, and Customer Support.
    • Contribute to process improvements that will benefit the factory in the years to come.
    • Contribute to process and tooling design and infrastructure.
  • Refurb:
    • Create sequence blueprints for new types of refurb machines.
    • Prepare sequences and material allocation for the successful start of refurb activities.
    • Implement action plans and troubleshoot issues on refurbishment systems.
    • Continuously improve refurb sequences.
  • Production Support:
    • Contribute to the rapid solution of complex faults and take the necessary initiatives and practical decisions.
    • Troubleshoot.

Key Interfaces

FAB and D&E Sequence engineering, LAB PE competence engineers, LAB TS engineers, Program Management, Production Planners, Technicians from all our work centers (including Install).

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor in Industrial Engineering (other technical studies are possible as well).
  • Experience with leading improvement projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Preferably 0 - 5 years of experience in a production environment with high-tech products and complex production processes.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
