Be part of progress: Join the EXE Top Integration Team at ASML

Introduction

The EXE Top Integration team at ASML develops and integrates mechatronic systems for cutting-edge EUV lithography systems. During testing and qualification of our modules, a significant amount of measurement data becomes available, which can be used for diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and monitoring of machine KPIs.

Your Assignment

You will be responsible for designing and implementing a data gathering and analyzing tool. As an intern in the team, your main task will be to retrieve data from modules in the system and perform data analysis. This analysis will help determine system health, enable preventive maintenance, and support diagnostics. Your responsibilities will include collecting data from systems in the factory, analyzing and visualizing data, checking for correlations between certain events on the system, and performing periodic data collection and analysis to provide early warnings.

Depending on your interests, you will work on data analysis in one of these domains:

  • Reticle Backside Inspection (RBI) reports: Check if contamination is more likely during certain actions on a system (during setup or use) and if there are certain areas on reticles that are more likely to get contaminated.
  • System Health Parameters: Check if systems are within population and if it's possible to predict part failures or maintenance based on these parameters.
  • Dynamics Performance Reports: Correlate abnormalities in the measured performance to problems that were found on systems.

This is a Bachelor or Master internship for 6 to 12 months, minimum 4 days per week (3 days onsite). This assignment is suitable for a thesis. The start date of this internship is as soon as possible - February/March.

Your Profile

To be a fit for this assignment, you:

  • Are currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's in Mechatronics with an affinity for programming, or in Engineering (Electrical, Software, Mechanical Engineering);
  • Have an affinity with data analysis and mechatronics;
  • Have some experience with programming/scripting in Python or C++;
  • Are proactive and self-propelling with a hands-on mentality;
  • Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written).

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
  • You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter should include your willingness to relocate;
  • If you are a non-EU citizen studying in the Netherlands, your university must be willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement);
  • This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
