ASML’s Development & Engineering (D&E) sector is responsible for the specification, design and integration of the ASML machines. In this sector, the department of Machine Conditioning (MC) specifies, designs and does the functional integration of the various (sub-)modules and architectures related to the flow and thermal domains. The department consists of discipline and function oriented groups where emphasis lies on particular knowledge/skills, architecture or modules in ASML machines.

Your Assignment

EUV systems use hydrogen (H2) for several reasons. The Gas Facility Unit (GFU) is a module that regulates H2 flow from bulk in a controlled manner towards the EUV system. The amount of machine types and customer specific requirements are increasing. This means also the number of module variants are increasing, leading to multiple design configurations which need to be managed efficiently. Therefore, the goal of this internship is to investigate and develop strategies to manage the increasing number of GFU configurations effectively.

Your tasks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Familiarize yourself with the module design and its critical components
  • Understand the current way of working and visualize it in a presentable format
  • Collect information from different departments in the organization
  • Investigate opportunities to deal with multiple configurations and engineering documentation in the bill of materials (BOM)
  • Come up with a strategy and align with designers and architects
  • Report findings

Your Profile

  • You are following a master's program in Industrial Engineering, Technical Business Administration (Technische Bedrijfskunde), or Supply Chain Management
  • You are interested in this topic and are eager to learn
  • You are proactive and independent
  • You are able to communicate with various stakeholders
  • You have good communication skills in English (verbal and written)

This is a Master internship for 6 to 12 months, working 4-5 days per week (3 days onsite). It is possible to write a thesis on this topic. The start date of this internship is around February 2026.

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship
  • You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate
  • If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement)

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
