We are looking for a savvy, hands on Accountant to support and help scale our finance team.
What this job is about:
Working as an Accountant at Poki is not your average finance role! You will sit in a central point in the business getting to see how a multi sided platform works, including managing the payments for our global game developer community. The work requires a diligent and accurate approach, however play is how we learn is a core value at Poki, so this is an opportunity to use, and develop, your finance skills in a fun, and dynamic environment.
Your challenge as a (Jr.) Accountant:
- Managing the day to day accounting in a timely and efficient manner, improving our level of financial control by implementing robust internal controls, enhancing financial reporting and analysis and managing our expense management tool.
- As accountant you will be required to ensure a smooth month-end close by capturing invoices, recording transactions, and reconciling accounts for accuracy. You will further be required to prepare journal entries, review financial statements, maintain general ledgers and managing fixed assets. You will also participate in generating management reports while ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting our financial controller by playing a key role in the periodic financial closings and annual audits.
- Playing a key role in various ad hoc tasks, such as managing relationships with external stakeholders and handling projects specific to working with digital products in our gaming industry niche.
You:
- Have 2 to 5 years of working experience in a similar role (e.g. finance trainee, administrator, controller) and have a solid knowledge of accounting principles
- Have experience in working with accounting software and periodic financial closings
- Are proficient in Excel / Google Sheets
- Have a university degree in Accounting, and are pursuing your CIMA (or similar) accreditation
- Have strong communication (in English), a keen eye for detail and an analytical mindset
- Are based in The Netherlands
Bonus experience:
- You have experience in a scale up environment, preferably in a tech company
- You have some experience with internal project management
- You have hands-on experience using NetSuite
- You can read (at least basic) Dutch
