The energy transition needs you as CIAM DevOps Engineer

As a CIAM DevOps Engineer at Alliander, you are primarily responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and quality of our CIAM service. This includes maintaining and technically managing the CIAM solution through incident resolution, executing changes, patches, and upgrades, as well as providing support to users and facilitating the transition to a future-proof CIAM platform within Alliander's energy transition context. We are creating the energy grid of the future, for everyone, with everyone. And as DevOps Engineer, you can play your part in this. Your role will involve:

  • Monitoring the stability, availability, quality, and continuity of the CIAM service, including incident resolution.
  • Managing (functionally and technically) the CIAM solution, including executing changes, patches, and upgrades.
  • Providing support to users of the CIAM service.
  • Further developing the CIAM service and advising on the transition to a platform service.
  • Collaborating with teams and project members within the IAM program and ART IAM.

You complete our network

Did you know that Alliander is made up of different business units? With our large group of talented professionals, we develop and manage the energy grid for millions of people and businesses in the Netherlands. Everything we do, we do with an eye on the people who rely on us: our customers. And thanks to our talents, we have the utmost confidence in the energy future of the Netherlands. Together with you, we make the energy transition possible, for and with our customers. You will be working at our Alliander business unit.

Having the drive to explore potential is only possible with the right motivation. We offer an inspiring working environment that will energise you in your day-to-day work. The ART IAM department... A future-proof CIAM foundation starts with positioning it within the (newly established) ART IAM as an Alliander-wide platform service for its subsidiaries and their customers. As a DevOps engineer, you will be part of the ART IAM, responsible for managing and developing this provision. You will also join the IAM program to advise on the transition to this new platform, meaning you get to be at the forefront of building your own team. You will collaborate with members of the IAM program and ART IAM, including Project Leads, Architects, and Product Managers. We work hybridly from Arnhem, with fixed office days on Monday and Thursday.

You energise our network

Working on an organisation that is future proof. With your talent and strengths, you can do that at our company. Will you contribute with your innovative solutions? We are looking in particular for a candidate with:

  • A completed, relevant degree at a Bachelor's or Master's level.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with CIAM methodologies and use cases such as registration, identity proofing, consent management, and delegated administration.
  • Knowledge of protocols such as SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect (OIDC).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Entra or SAP CDC/ISU/MCF.

Customer focus is second nature to you. You understand that everything we do ultimately impacts our customers, and you act accordingly.

Attractive salary and benefits package

Based on a 40-hour working week, you will receive:

  • a gross monthly salary of €4,490 to €7,437 (scale 9-10);
  • annually an Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 18% (full time) or 12.8% (part time) of your gross annual salary. This includes 5.2% ADV (shorter working hours) and 8% holiday allowance. If you do not work full time, you are not entitled to ADV. You can have this budget paid out as extra salary or use it to purchase extra days off, for example. You choose the option that is right for you.
  • 24.5 days’ holiday per year, which can be topped up generously from your IKB.
  • an end-of-year bonus of 6% of your annual salary in December.
  • a sustainable employability (SE) budget of €500 per year (from 2026 even €700). Choose a payment for a sport or hobby, to make your home more sustainable or to reduce your student loan debt with DUO, for example. You decide how your budget is spent.
  • the possibility of combining working in the office with working from home, if your position allows. This even includes the option of a 'workation'. If you work from home, you will receive a home office allowance.

And we obviously offer much more besides!

Please note: We are only considering candidates who currently reside in the Netherlands.
