Do you want to know what it's like to be part of one of the largest multinational companies in the pharmaceutical industry? We offer an internship opportunity within our European Capital Procurement department where you will have the freedom and space for your own initiative.

Welcome to our team

The European Capital Procurement department is an essential hub in our organization. This department is focused on all facets of capital investments, realizing the procurement of any item from lab equipment to new factories. The team consists of five employees, all of whom have extensive knowledge and experience in the pharmaceutical industry. The team works closely with other departments within the company to achieve the stated goals.

Your internship assignment

As an intern, you will be responsible for the delivery of your own research, a recommendation report, and pre-implementation activities. You will coordinate your project relying on the knowledge, goals, and interests of a wide and varied mix of industry specialists. The research will focus both on available tools inside the organization (like AI, templates, tools & templates, and international databases) which can be applied by the Capital Procurement department, as well as new market developments and potential missed opportunities within the current global industry. The goal is to advise on, and enable the use of, available tools aimed to accelerate the efficiency and efficacy of the Capital Procurement team, taking into account one of the most complex procurement environments.

Your responsibilities

  • Conduct independent qualitative research regarding internally and externally available technologies to support capital procurement at the highest level possible.
  • Assess current market developments that may impact the department.
  • Process collected data using internationally recognized methods.
  • Translate results and findings into a useful and objective report aimed at the future development of capital procurement ways of working.
  • Provide a fresh perspective to the department by sharing your opinion.

The described tasks form the basic package and will often be performed independently after a proper training and learning period. These tasks may be supplemented with other projects and/or tasks on your own initiative or at the request of the organization.

What is required

  • Third-year HBO or WO student in (technical) business administration, International business (management), business economy, or similar study. Fourth-year students may also apply.
  • Familiarity with Excel, PowerPoint, qualitative research methods, basic procurement processes, data analysis and interpretation.
  • Enthusiastic about procurement strategies, market forces, digital technology, capital projects, pharmaceutical companies, and complex problems.
  • Excellent Dutch and English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Available for a period of five months for five days per week.

What we offer

  • The chance to gain experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • An opportunity to showcase yourself for potential opportunities after your internship period.
  • A challenging and dynamic work environment with plenty of room for personal development and initiative.
  • Good guidance from an experienced specialist.
  • A gross monthly internship allowance of €500,- based on a 40-hour workweek.
