Here’s what we’ll do together

As Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for ensuring our channel assortment is on-brand and optimized for all G-STAR Own Operated European stores (full price and off price) and EU G-Star.com. You are an expert in buying collections for both brick-and-mortar stores, Outlet, and online, always considering our consumers’ needs. Performance-focused, you will drive sales across all channels, constantly seeking trading opportunities. You are a strategic thinker who keeps an eye on the bigger picture while excelling in day-to-day tasks.

Your tasks & responsibilities:

  • Buy for all g-star.com, our full price brick stores, and Outlet stores across dedicated product groups.
  • Attend trade weekly to track and monitor sales and be the commercial voice.
  • Fulfil seasonal OTB (re-orders, etc.) to ensure opportunities are maximized for all own channels.
  • Identify product needs for promotional activities such as Black Friday.
  • Be responsible for fulfilling all MFO (made for Outlet) product needs.
  • Ensure that target budgets for controlled are achieved and/or exceeded.
  • Manage all Speed to market requests in a timely manner, keeping all relevant departments informed.
  • Keep in close contact with the merchandising team to highlight market trends and product opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Merchandise Planning team & allocation team.
  • Work closely with the Head of Merchandising to develop strategies to grow G-STAR controlled business.
  • Be the point of contact to communicate with the ecommerce team regarding copy and product imagery for G-Star.com.
  • Understand the customer needs for G-star.com with a specific focus per region and use this information to make considered commercial decisions on a product level in conjunction with the director of ecommerce and digital trading.
  • Any other tasks that can be reasonably expected and will contribute to the performance of the role.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor/Master in Business and/or Fashion.
  • 5 to 8 years of recent, relevant experience in selection buying in a fashion business.
  • Experience collaborating with Merchandising and Merchandise Planning to ensure the right assortment is selected—trading is at the core of what you’ll do, and you’ll be asked to do everything possible to achieve net sales and EBITDA.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Innovation-driven, with a will to challenge existing processes and practices to drive the business forward.
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills.
  • Consumer and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, written and verbal in English.
