Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It

We believe happy team members make happy guests. That’s why we dive deep into what makes our people tick, and how their energy shapes The Social Hub experience. You’ll play a key role in this mission by helping us rebuild our data warehouse on Microsoft Fabric, turning raw data into insights that power engagement across our teams. Under the guidance of a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll design pipelines, build dimensional models, and create quality checks that turn numbers into decisions. You’ll work closely with everyone across The Social Hub, gaining exposure to all corners of the business. This internship is based in Amsterdam for at least 5 to 6 months starting February 2026.

In Case You Don’t Know Who We Are

Known for being the rule breakers in hospitality, The Social Hub is a fun, creative and inspiring environment where everyone can work, stay, learn and play and most importantly – be themselves. As an employer we look, act and think like a hotel, but instead we offer a lot more. Think student accommodation, long and short stay options, gyms, talks, events, rooftop bar and eat & drink escapes as well as community and coworking spaces. Located in The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Spain, and the UK, this hybrid hospitality concept may take root in the heart of Europe, but our plans are set for going global.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain Microsoft Fabric data pipelines and Spark notebooks
  • Transform raw data into reliable ELT/ETL processes in OneLake/Lakehouse
  • Implement star and snowflake schemas, SCDs, and other data models for analytics
  • Write clean, testable PySpark/Python code following solid OOP principles
  • Query and optimize datasets with SQL for performance and reliability
  • Monitor, debug, and improve pipeline jobs with logging and alerting
  • Collaborate in an Agile team with stand-ups, reviews, and retros
  • Document datasets, lineage, and runbooks for smooth handovers

What You’ll Have

  • You have strong PySpark and Python skills, including OOP fundamentals
  • You have solid SQL skills for joins, transformations, and validations
  • You can debug Spark jobs and troubleshoot data quality issues
  • You have basic DevOps experience with Git (branching, PRs)
  • You’re enrolled in a WO Bachelor or Master program
  • You’re available in a hybrid setup
  • You’re fluent in English and based in or near Amsterdam

What We Offer

  • An amazing work environment with a fantastic vibe and lots of positive energy
  • On the job coaching and guidance
  • Monthly compensation for your internship (please note that travel costs are not reimbursed)
  • The opportunity to work and learn at a dynamic, young, international organisation; we’re a real game changer in the hospitality industry
  • The opportunity to work for a Certified B Corp® company that balances profit with positive impact, collaborating with organizations like Movement on the Ground and the TSH Talent Foundation to create meaningful change
  • A first glimpse into the world of Hospitality with one of the most innovative players in the market
  • Access to the amazing TSH facilities, including our awesome restaurant and gym. And did we mention you also get a discount on Hotel stays and Food and Drinks?
  • A wonderful workplace to call home with, dare we say it, fun colleagues

The Social Hub is much more than a hotel. In our boundary-blurring spaces we bring together a new generation of bold change-makers to connect, learn, stay, work, and play. Creating memorable experiences for our community of hotel guests, students, creatives, enterprising minds and anyone in between.
