Bachelor/Master internship: Software Engineer – Application Refactoring

Refactoring of a low code application to implement a future proof and maintainable solution which complies to our architecture guidelines.

Your work will consist of:

• In cooperation with the business owner, get insight in the exact requirements and different requirements between the warehouses
• Define the new setup to get to one single application supporting variations between different warehouses
• Refactor one of the existing applications to get to one application
• Refactor the application to comply to the architecture guidelines (for example: set up a SQL Database to store the data vs storing it in the low code platform and build an API to expose the data to the application)
• Ensure necessary communication is being done to all stakeholders
• Work together with application owner, tester, technical application manager to ensure the application is deployed and documented according DAF IT Standards and procedures

Jouw profiel

We are looking for an enthusiastic student in Software Engineering with:

• Technical knowledge to work as much as possible independently on this initiative.
  • OutSystems Platform: Service Studio, architecture, modules (this is a pre but not a must, online training can be the start of the process)
  • Programming Concepts: JavaScript, SQL, CSS, HTML
  • Database & Data Modeling: Entity design, SQL queries
  • UI/UX Design: Responsive design, widgets, templates
  • Integrations: REST/SOAP, APIs, external systems
  • Problem-Solving: Business process harmonization, debugging
  • Security: Authentication, authorization, data protection
• An analytical mindset
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a team environment

Afdeling

IT PACCAR Parts is part of the European IT Organization of DAF Trucks and is located in Eindhoven.
The department is responsible for managing applications that support our customer in the Parts domain.The department exists of 5 agile teams and works closely with business stakeholders, technical application managers and functional application managers.
