About this role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive EIT Operations - Team Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong accountability, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage and motivate a team of 5-10 IT professionals. This role emphasizes a high degree of people management, with a focus on maintaining high standards of service delivery, fostering team harmony, and driving continuous improvement in processes and performance.

These are some of the key components to the position:

  • Accountability:
    • Own and promote the Global Operating Manual, suggesting improvements for internal processes and presenting these to Senior Management.
    • Lead a team of 5-10 IT professionals with minimal oversight, aligning team efforts with management's goals.
    • Manage vendor relationships and attend cross-functional meetings to collaborate on processes.
    • Own and maintain the EIT budget, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
    • Ensure regular check-ins with executives to meet their day-to-day IT needs.
    • Apply key principles of team management to optimize team performance.
    • Maintain a technical and people management focus of 10/90 split.
  • Problem Solving:
    • Proactively address difficult issues, maintaining professionalism and considering diverse perspectives.
    • Conduct root cause analysis for complex issues and implement team-wide fixes.
    • Innovate and implement efficient ways of working, enhancing team productivity.
    • Negotiate and collaborate with other business areas to achieve team goals.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert in various EITops technologies and workflows.
    • Develop and present projects to management aimed at enhancing team performance and support capabilities.
  • Delivering Quality:
    • Effectively manage personal and team workload to meet service targets.
    • Exemplify thorough and detailed ticket updates in line with the Global Operating Manual.
    • Maintain professionalism and act as a role model and ambassador for the team.
    • Perform well under pressure, diffusing difficult situations calmly.
    • Regularly performance manage the team, providing constructive feedback and reporting to management.
    • Set individual goals for team members, facilitating growth and improved performance.
    • Deliver motivational content and conduct meetings to boost morale and address low performance.
    • Identify improvement areas for each team member, developing and monitoring improvement plans.
  • Communication:
    • Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders regarding issues, projects, and business cases.
    • Communicate updates and changes via email or team meetings.
    • Conduct team meetings and tailor communication to various audiences.
    • Maintain open communication channels with direct reports for escalation and support.
    • Regularly check in with executives, establishing yourself as a go-to resource.
    • Relay team feedback, suggestions, and performance information to management.
    • Develop innovative methods for sharing information within the team.
    • Ensure training materials are current and relevant.
  • Working with Others:
    • Collaborate with other team leads to coordinate daily tasks and initiatives.
    • Foster team harmony and resolve conflicts effectively.
    • Act as a business partner with other teams within Just Eat.
    • Participate in senior management meetings to provide advice and answer stakeholder questions.
  • Leadership:
    • Complete tasks assigned by management using team resources, maintaining clear communication.
    • Manage team knowledge, update documentation, and conduct workshops.
    • Coach and mentor the team on JET/EITops processes and best practices.
    • Oversee daily duties, prioritize high-priority issues, and ensure smooth site operations.
    • Manage team resources to provide even coverage across all support areas.
    • Assign and oversee project work, providing regular guidance and check-ins.
    • Serve as the point of contact for 3rd line issues, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
    • Meet with each direct report bi-weekly to monitor progress on personal and professional goals.
    • Identify and encourage the development of new skills among team members.
    • Fill in for other team leads and the manager during their absence.
    • Assist in hiring new team members by reviewing resumes and conducting interviews.
