Become part of our Product Data Services team and help build a resilient, scalable data backbone powered by Kotlin microservices that delivers mission critical product data to over 1,100 Albert Heijn stores! Delivering great software is even more exciting when millions of people rely on it every day!

When you become our second QA engineer on our team you will take a big role ensuring we deliver quality and that our data reaches exactly where it’s needed, like every electronic shelf label in all our Albert Heijn stores. Imagine next time you walk into an Albert Heijn store with a friend, you’ll be able to point at a shelf and say, That data is there real-time because of the software I contributed to!

This is how you will reinvent food retail.

  • You design, build and maintain automated tests that help us catch issues early and deliver confidently at scale;
  • You collaborate closely with developers, product owners and data engineers to continuously improve quality, performance and reliability of our systems;
  • You are passionate about learning, experimenting with new tools and approaches, and sharing your insights to raise the team’s QA maturity;
  • You play a key role in guaranteeing that millions of customers see the right product data and prices in real time, every single day!

Your new team and office. Our team has been working together for about three years, and we thrive in a hybrid work environment that offers the best of both worlds: in-person collaboration and a good work-life balance. You’ll usually find us at our office in Zaandam (right next to the train station) one or two days a week, where we schedule our most important team sessions.

Together with your team of Product Owner and Backend Developers, you will work on inspiring projects to accelerate our transition into a hybrid Food & Tech company. If you’re new to the quality engineering job market, don’t worry if you don’t meet every requirement below! What truly matters to us is your eagerness to learn and your problem-solving approach to mastering automated software testing. We’d love to see your resume! What we’re looking for:

  • A quality mindset (you intuitively know where the bugs could be hiding) and eagerness to sharpen your skills in testing using tools like RestAssured or Playwright to write strong suite of automated tests;
  • Curiosity about microservices and hands-on experience with Java or Kotlin. If you're new to Kotlin but have Java experience, you'll learn on the job!
  • Basic knowledge of REST, APIs, GraphQL, CI/CD, cloud, and Agile/Scrum;
  • Big bonus if you have experience with MongoDB, Kafka, Kubernetes, Grafana or Prometheus;
  • You enjoy teamwork and making things happen;
  • Strong communication skills in English to collaborate effectively with the team;
  • You’re tech savvy, pro-active and have a big passion for tech.
