Image Guided Therapy (IGT) is a business segment within Philips, focused on diagnostics and therapy in the cardio-vascular domain. IGT includes the imaging guidance systems and solutions business and the therapy delivery devices business. The overall strategy of IGT is to create an integrated clinical solutions business that supports customers throughout the entire minimally invasive procedure and beyond.

IGT FORS venture is an entrepreneurial, multidisciplinary team positioned as a start-up embedded within IGT. It focuses on procedure innovation and new business model development by creating novel solutions to navigate and position minimally-invasive devices based on Fiber Optic RealShape (FORS) technology.

Procurement’s role is to enable these novel innovations and related operations by building and maintaining strategic relationships with state-of-the-art suppliers, leveraging Philips supply base and Philips Procurement whenever possible.

You will report to the FORS Procurement manager. IGT FORS operates globally. The FORS procurement role is based in Best (Netherlands).

Your role:

  • As a Procurement New Business Creation Sourcing Engineer in IGT FORS, you hold a pivotal role by enabling access to key technologies at partner suppliers, ensuring productization in close cooperation with those suppliers, and securing flawless production and delivery of products and services to Philips.
  • This role goes beyond standard sourcing engineering. You will not only drive supplier selection and co-development, but also take full ownership of supplier account management and commodity management related tasks. You will manage your suppliers that are part of FORS New Business Creation Commodity. FORS operates with a lean team and limited existing supplier base, so you will build and manage supplier relationships from the ground up.
  • You will be responsible for product cost reduction, adherence to the cost roadmap, and translating technical innovations into cost implications. You will manage your own portfolio (focused on the engine module), run independent projects, and contribute to both short-term operations and long-term strategy.
  • You will operate on the interface between R&D functions, Business management, Legal, IP&S, Supply Chain operations and the Suppliers. This is a highly dynamic and autonomous role that allows you to grow your talents and skill sets by interacting with many Philips internal functions and external suppliers to the medical device industry.

You’re the right fit if:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in engineering (electronics / optics);
  • You have 5 – 7 years of experience in procurement – preferably in the medical industry;
  • You have a proven track record in driving supplier selection processes, negotiation and should cost management, where you are able to leverage your technical background;
  • You have experience in contracting suppliers in cooperation with Legal and IP&S functions;
  • You have experience in managing supplier performance and overall relationships;
  • You thrive in a dynamic environment, can switch between strategic, tactical and operational activities, and are ready to take ownership and make a difference!

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This role is an office role.
