This is Adyen

Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft—making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.

For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.

CDD Quality Assurance Specialist

The financial world is highly regulated, and as a financial institution, Adyen must know its customers to ensure compliance with global regulations and our risk appetite. The KYC/CDD team is fundamental to this effort.

Within the Merchant Operations department, we are looking for a seasoned professional to help us build and scale a robust quality assurance framework for our KYC/CDD processes. This is an opportunity for a proactive individual with a deep understanding of Compliance and KYC to take full ownership of our internal quality control processes. You will be responsible for reviewing assessments made by our CDD analysts, compiling data insights, and providing recommendations to continuously improve the quality of our operations. Your work will directly ensure that our CDD process meets the highest quality standards, in line with the expectations of our Compliance and Audit teams.

What you will do

  • Lead and perform in-depth quality reviews of existing CDD and KYC processes, identifying systemic weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
  • Design, implement, and refine the end-to-end quality assurance framework and strategies to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of our CDD and KYC processes.
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, leveraging data-driven insights and feedback to enhance workflows and minimize errors.
  • Guarantee adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies, conducting regular quality sampling and audits to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments, including Compliance, Commercial, and Product, to ensure seamless integration of QA procedures and promote a culture of quality and compliance across the organization.
  • Create insightful audit reports and dashboards, providing clear QA results and actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Develop and deliver targeted training and mentorship to CDD analysts, elevating the team's overall quality and expertise.

Why is this Role Unique?

This role is for a specialist who is ready to go beyond standard quality checks. You will be a key player in shaping our QA framework from the ground up, establishing the standards and processes that will protect our business and ensure we remain "in control." As a CDD QA Specialist, you won't just be reviewing cases; you'll be a strategic partner, providing critical insights to senior stakeholders, identifying emerging risks, and driving impactful, data-led change. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with a strong analytical mindset who is ready to own a critical function, influence decisions, and contribute to Adyen's long-term regulatory integrity.

Who you are

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in a CDD/KYC Quality Assurance or a related compliance role within the payments or financial services industry.
  • Proven experience as a CDD/KYC analyst is a significant plus.
  • Deep understanding of AML, CFT, and regulatory expectations.
  • Highly analytical and data-oriented, with a critical mindset for identifying patterns, process gaps, and areas for improvement.
  • A proactive project owner with a track record of initiating and guiding the development of new processes and solutions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to spot nuances others may miss.
  • A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, able to liaise effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Comfortable working across cultures and time zones in a fast-paced environment.
