Join the Cleanliness of Parts Team at ASML

Introduction

Our team, the Cleanliness of Parts, is part of the Defectivity Department. We support the ASML organization, suppliers, and cleaning service providers to design, manufacture, assemble, clean, and verify mono-parts, modules, and systems that fulfill the cleanliness specifications to meet our customer requirements. For this reason, we develop various measurement and cleaning techniques for qualification of parts' cleanliness.

Your Assignment

This internship is about understanding particle contamination behavior on parts' surfaces, conducting SEM-EDX analysis, and learning how to handle the data generated in order to perform statistical analyses. As an intern, you will have ownership of the methodology and related documentation, enabling you to implement the knowledge gained into contamination measurements performed at ASML and within our factory and supply chain. You will also have the opportunity to work in our cleanroom and participate in trainings. Your main tasks will be:

  • Developing the needed database
  • Evaluating the data
  • Performing correlation studies

Your Profile

To be a fit for this assignment, you:

  • Are currently pursuing your bachelor's or master's in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Physics
  • Have a strong affinity with surface/interfacial chemistry and materials chemistry
  • Have knowledge about software that supports statistical analysis
  • Have strong analytical ability and are solution driven
  • Have some experience with SEM-EDX measurements and spectroscopic techniques (UV/Vis, fluorescence, NMR, FTIR) (a plus)
  • Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written)

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship
  • You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. If you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter should include your willingness to relocate
  • If you are a non-EU citizen studying in the Netherlands, your university must be willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement)
