Internship Opportunity at TenneT: Data Science Intern in the Data Analytics Team

As a Data Science Intern in our Data Analytics team, you will work alongside data analysts and domain experts, applying data science, AI, and/or computer science techniques to develop solutions that support a reliable and sustainable grid. We are seeking motivated individuals with a passion for data and computer science to join our team as interns. This opportunity will allow you to gain hands-on experience working on real-world projects, collaborating with experienced professionals, and developing your technical skills in a dynamic environment.

Your Role

During your internship, you will work on one of the following projects. Please indicate your preference in your application:

1. Anomaly Detection – Identifying irregular behaviour in grid operations, sensor data, or communication systems.
2. Optimization – Supporting grid planning or energy market simulations through mathematical and algorithmic optimization techniques.
3. Computer Vision – Developing methods to analyze visual data from grid infrastructure (e.g., drone footage or thermal imaging) to support asset inspection, fault detection, or condition monitoring.

You will be supported by the Data Analytics team, where you will have plenty of opportunity to work independently and brainstorm with colleagues.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in data collection, cleaning, and analysis tasks.
• Support the development and testing of software solutions.
• Collaborate with team members to solve technical challenges.
• Document processes and contribute to project reports.

Your Profile & Background

You:

• Are enrolled in a university master’s programme in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related field.
• Are analytical, curious, and eager to learn.
• Are proactive in seeking collaboration and feedback.
• Are interested in applying your academic knowledge to practical challenges in the energy sector.
• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• A monthly internship allowance of €500 (based on 40 hours per week).
• Start date: February 1st 2026 for a period of 5 to 10 months, full-time (40 hours per week).

Bij TenneT ontvang je een marktconforme stagevergoeding. Het exacte bedrag is afhankelijk van je opleidingsniveau. Tijdens het sollicitatieproces informeren we je graag over de details.

Onze kantoren zijn goed bereikbaar met het openbaar vervoer. We gaan ervan uit dat je gebruikmaakt van je studenten-OV voor je reis naar kantoor. Mocht dit niet mogelijk zijn, dan kijken we samen naar een passende oplossing.
