Job Summary

You will be working in our offices in Papendrecht. The role involves understanding, communicating, and explaining the product, process, and system requirements to suppliers, while participating in and orchestrating the qualification plan (FAI by using APQP) to ensure a qualified product is delivered on time. It includes monitoring and analyzing the quality performance of suppliers, conducting reviews, and taking actions depending on the root cause of any problem (such as assessments or 8D problem-solving activities) to secure continuous quality compliance. The position also manages supplier quality performance issues, serves as the liaison for suppliers, suggests structural process improvements, and collaborates with other engineers in a team environment. In addition, the role requires executing supplier audits to verify and assure product and process compliance, with regular travel to suppliers being an integral part of the job.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review supplier First Article and communicate to SQE at Designing Organization.
  • Have frequent contact with suppliers to monitor actions within quality.
  • Analyze suppliers' quality performance and identify improvement areas.
  • Manage the follow-up of supplier non-conformances including root cause, corrective and preventive actions.
  • Handle escape including root cause investigation, containment, and corrective actions; participate in 8D investigations.
  • Participate in supplier work transfer evaluation and monitoring.
  • Support concurrent engineering between GKN and supplier (design for manufacturing).
  • Support in supplier feedback.

Job Qualifications

Essential

  • More than 4 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering or production, preferably in product qualification activities or inspection/control.
  • Knowledgeable in aerospace quality requirements (AS9100, NADCAP).
  • Skilled in root cause analysis, 8D, and continuous improvement.
  • Well organized and structured with strong skills to work both independently and in a team.
  • Target-oriented and outgoing with effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of aerospace products, processes, and technologies.
  • Experience and skill with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

Desirable

  • Experience in New Product Introduction and interaction between Purchasing and Engineering in Product Development.
  • Knowledge of AS13XXX-standards and APQP, understanding of the Aerospace industry and associated regulatory requirements and standards.
