MISSION TO METRICS

The mission of The Ocean Cleanup is to develop technology to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern with project management skills to support our waste management initiatives. The role will focus on overseeing product deliverables, developing process documentation templates, coordinating with waste managers, and maintaining digital collaboration platforms. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to structured waste management practices while gaining hands-on experience in project coordination and knowledge management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track and oversee all waste management product deliverables to ensure timely completion and compliance with standards.
  • Develop and maintain clear, standardized process document templates for consistent use across teams.
  • Disseminate deliverables, share templates, and coordinate with waste managers to keep stakeholders aligned.
  • Organize and manage collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams) to centralize resources and ensure easy access.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Background in project management, environmental management, waste management, or related fields.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with knowledge management platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, or similar).
  • Fluent in English.

  • Attention to detail: Ensures accuracy in deliverables and documentation.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Open to feedback and capable of adjusting to evolving project needs.

  • Work permit needed: European Union
  • Candidate must be enrolled in a University MSc program during the internship.

The Ocean Cleanup develops advanced technology to extract, prevent, and intercept plastic pollution. Our goal is to initiate the largest cleanup in history by mid-2018.
