How you can make a difference

Do you want to help shape the future of procurement in an international environment where quality, compliance and innovation come together? In this role, you will ensure that our sourcing managers will be most optimally supported by our SSC.

About Ahold Delhaize

We’re Ahold Delhaize, one of the world’s largest food retail groups and a leader in both supermarkets and e-commerce. Together with our 17 strong local retail brands in the United States, Europe and Indonesia, we make a meaningful difference in the lives of our brands’ customers, our people and the world around us. We offer a highly dynamic, international work environment in which our associates thrive.

Your new work environment

As Manager Sourcing Operations & Compliance, you will be joining our Not for Resale (NfR) Sourcing department. This European team facilitates the business operations of all our Ahold Delhaize brands by sourcing the indirect goods and services they need. With more than 90 highly skilled professionals, including over 50 strategic sourcing managers, we enable collaboration across six countries and deliver best-in-class sourcing solutions.

Within this context you will be responsible to optimize the collaboration between sourcing managers and the SSC, both for existing processes and for implementing future (compliance) processes.

You will be given the freedom and responsibility to take ownership of your work and broaden your horizons by working together with knowledgeable colleagues from different countries who have an abundance of expertise in many areas.

Key responsibilities of your role

Your role is highly diverse and encompasses various responsibilities. Here are the key ones:

  • Ensure Service Quality & Operational Performance
Oversee procurement support services such as sourcing support, contract services and analytics, ensuring delivery according to agreed SLAs and KPIs.
  • SSC Oversight & Process Optimization
Oversee the SSC operations, ensure efficient functioning, identify inefficiencies, and integrate new or transferred tasks in a scalable, future-proof way.
  • Stakeholder Management and Collaboration
Build strong relationships with sourcing managers, legal, IT security and other stakeholders, managing expectations and resolving escalations.
  • Data & Reporting Excellence
Own and further develop procurement dashboards and reports (e.g. spend analytics, sourcing cockpit) ensuring data quality and actionable insights.
  • Compliance & Market Awareness
Align SSC activities with procurement policies, internal controls and new legislation (e.g. EUDR, PPWR), embedding compliance in scalable processes.

What’s in it for you?

  • A gross annual salary between 76.000 and 85.000 a year, including holiday allowance and excluding bonuses
  • Plenty of growth opportunities and various cross-brand career options
  • Flexible working hours and hybrid working (on average 3 days per week at the office)
  • A good work-life balance in an inclusive environment
  • Attractive bonuses
  • A first-rate pension plan
  • 20 vacation days plus the option to buy an additional 12,5 days
  • Travel expenses or an NS travel card
  • A laptop and smartphone

Requirements

We think you’ll be best geared for success if you meet the following requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance or related fields
  • 5–7 years of experience in procurement, sourcing or operational procurement management
  • Experience with procurement systems (e.g. Zycus, Coupa, SAP Ariba) and data/reporting tools (e.g. Power BI)
  • Proven track record in managing procurement operations or shared services
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Aside from these hard skills, we think you should also bring some much-valued soft skills to the table: a continuous improvement mindset, strong communication skills, stakeholder management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment.

"I realized how much impact you can truly have as an individual, working for such a huge international company.”
“The support this company has always offered means the world to me."
“I feel the freedom to show initiative, propose changes and try new things. Having that freedom gave me wings to fly.”

If you are keen to join the NFR Sourcing team, even if you don’t tick all the boxes but believe you have the personality and skills that make you a suitable candidate, we encourage you to reach out. For questions, contact Marie Lont via marie.lont@ah.nl.
