Purpose of the Role

The Transformation Project Manager leads strategic initiatives that fundamentally change how CRH's IT functions and delivers value. The main area of responsibility is to develop and execute strategic project plans to modernise IT infrastructure and processes. Focus technology areas include Cloud and Data Centre, Networks, Digital Workplace Platform, and Service Management.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans including schedules, dependencies, milestones, and resource allocation
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including operations, infrastructure, applications, and operating companies (OpCo)
  • Manage multiple interconnected projects within the transformation programme
  • Identify and assess potential risks to project success and develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans
  • Track and report on project budget, variances, and forecasts
  • Manage complex infrastructure projects across multiple domains, including Network, Cloud, and Application transformations
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Support end users through change management and training
  • Lead project meetings, providing regular progress reports to the PMO and senior management
  • Coordinate third parties/vendors for execution of projects

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to effectively gather requirements, prioritise tasks, and schedule

Competencies

  • Deep understanding of enterprise infrastructure architecture
  • Experience with network technologies and protocols (LAN/WAN, SDWAN)
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Understanding of virtualization technologies and application infrastructure requirements
  • Change management in technical environments
  • Effective engagement with a range of stakeholders, including senior leaders
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid)

Education/Experience

  • Degree/Masters in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Multiple years of experience in project management, ideally in the manufacturing industry
  • Proven working experience as a project manager in the information technology sector
  • Certification in project and service management (e.g., ITIL, AgilePM, CSM, PMP, PRINCE2) highly desirable
  • Fluency in both speaking and writing English
