Introduction to the Company

Founded in 1984, ASML is the world's leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, manufacturing complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated circuits or chips. ASML has its headquarters in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, and has R&D and manufacturing operations in North America, Asia, and Europe. The IT sector supports information management, infrastructure, automation, and optimization of key business processes across ASML. The ICT infrastructure, hardware, and applications are absolutely mission-critical for almost all ASML’s internal and external activities. Recently, ASML IT has completed an Agile transformation based on SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and is currently further optimizing the agile mindset and processes.

About the Role

Are you a passionate and pro-active Release Train Engineer with experience in customer support processes? Then we are looking for you!

As Release Train Engineer, you are part of the ‘Leading Coalition’, together with the SA (System Architect) and the CPO (Chief Product Owner) of the Market2Cash ART. This ART consists of a group of agile teams responsible for the enterprise solution delivery in the Sales domain for ASML. You understand the importance of stakeholder management and build a strong network within ASML to take the business teams along in this agile mindset and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with teams across the train and challenging the teams to set and meet realistic objectives
  • Orchestrating the teams and ensuring the overall performance and delivery capability of your ART
  • Facilitating the agile rituals (like program increment planning events, scrum of scrums, agile portfolio management, etc.)
  • Monitoring the predictability and efficiency of the ART, the employee engagement of the team members, and the satisfaction of its internal customers
  • Ensuring that the continuous improvement mindset in the ART is fostered
  • Managing risks and impediments together with the scrum masters of the different teams
  • Managing the ART roadmap together with the chief product owner (CPO) and the system architect

In this role, you will work closely with the Chief Product Owner of the Sales Technology team and form part of the leading coalition alongside the System Architect. You will synchronize with two agile teams:

  • Deal Structuring Team: Comprising three experienced Business Process Analysts and a best-shoring team that provides specialized functional and development expertise. This team supports the CPQ solution used for deal structuring by ASML’s Customer Teams.
  • Sales Forecasting Team: Includes two experienced Business Process Analysts and a smaller best-shoring team responsible for developing advanced business planning solutions. The user front-end is built in Mendix and integrates with SAP IBP.

As RTE, you operate within the SAFe agile framework and are responsible for financial management of time spent within the ART. You work cross-organizationally and align on people allocations to ensure optimal resource utilization.

Education and Experience

  • Academic working and thinking level with a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in IT, Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering
  • 10+ years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in an agile leadership role with a proven track record as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) in a complex, enterprise-scale environment
  • Experience within the sales domain, ideally covering deal structuring and planning/forecasting processes
  • Prior experience in organizations where SAP is used at scale is strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies, agile development, and DevOps practices, particularly within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Familiarity with CPQ solutions and advanced business planning tools (e.g., SAP IBP, Mendix) is a plus

Skills

  • Agile Leadership
  • Self-starting with a clear vision of direction
  • Metrics and Trend Analysis
  • Planning & Organization (including large group facilitation)
  • Mentoring & Coaching
  • Systems thinking
  • Networking (acting as a connector) & Communication
