We are developing a 25MWe high-temperature gas cooled SMR to create power on board of large offshore vessels and power and heat for on-land. Nuclear power is clean, reliable and enables refuelling cycles of years. This will be a game-changer for the maritime industry and energy intensive industry.

Your role

As mechanical engineer you will be part of the multidisciplinary nuclear team within the Innovations Department. You will contribute to the design and analysis of the reactor systems and power cycles through various calculations and simulations. Your work will span a wide spectrum of mechanical engineering disciplines, including high-level integration, process system design, component design and safety and control interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Synthesize results from various design disciplines and include it in the reactor design
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to incorporate design requirements
  • Co-design the heat-to-power conversion process
  • Co-operate and manage several vendors
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with safety requirements.

What we expect from you

  • BSc/MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Affinity and experience with coding (e.g. Python or Linux);
  • Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software;
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
