Air Liquide Engineering & Construction aims to create value for its customers through being the Group’s guarantor of technology independence, a trusted, efficient and competitive general EPC Contractor, alongside excellence in Project Execution and talent pipeline for E&C and the Group. E&C has an important role to play to deliver the Group’s ambitious Environmental, Societal and Governance objectives, and be in a position to deliver projects arising from the energy transition.

For EPC projects executed by E&C, the Subcontract Team is responsible for the development, preparation and management of all contractual elements of construction contracts. The Subcontract Team involvement is required during all phases of the project starting with the preparation of an ITB, bid clarification and comparison, contract award to a contractor, the Subcontracts administration during execution at construction site, until the final close-out of the Subcontracts.

This exciting VIE mission consists of two parts in Huelva, Spain followed by Rotterdam, Netherlands for a total of 24 months.

At first it will include the involvement on the completion of the construction of an Air Separation Unit (ASU) in Huelva, Spain followed by the involvement of the construction of a Green Hydrogen Electrolyzer among the biggest capacity in Europe (250MW) in the Netherlands, Rotterdam.

Being part of the Subcontract team the VIE- Site Subcontract engineer (m/f/d) shall provide support to the Subcontract manager to perform the following tasks with the target to handle part of the below activities autonomously during the course of the VIE.

Management of construction contracts during execution at site:

  • Be the focal point of subcontractors for contractual and commercial matters
  • Coordination with other departments such as Construction, Engineering, quality, planning, cost etc. to perform the following tasks;
    • Analyze and approve Extra-works/ Change Order and Claims
    • Issue contractual communication with subcontractors (letters, Minute of Meeting..)
    • Coordinate quantities remeasurement
    • Review and validate monthly payment request from subcontractor
    • Close out of Subcontract

Are you a MATCH?

  • You have an Engineering background (Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or similar Masters): What matters is your motivation and interest to deep dive into the topic
  • You have up to 2 years of work experience
  • This role requires strong communication skills to different internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with Microsoft office (Excel) or similar (Google Sheets)
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; Dutch language skills are welcome
