About the Team

The A&G Solutions and Corporate Pricing Team owns pricing strategy, policy, and price lists for all Corporate Markets products as well as Research Solutions sold into Academic & Government Markets. We drive revenue growth through multidimensional price segmentation, demand-driven pricing of innovations, and by minimizing or eliminating price erosion.

About the Role

The Pricing Analyst (fixed term, 12 months) will drive development of strategic pricing capability across the portfolio of one of Elsevier’s Solutions business units (Corporate or Academic & Government). In this role, you will optimize price points and maximize sustainable, long-term revenue in your solution portfolio. We seek a multifaceted professional with a cross-functional background, who can interact confidently with senior internal customers. The successful candidate will be grounded in innovative pricing approaches and act as a knowledge center to commercial leaders. A solid grasp of quantitative methods, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to make grounded recommendations, will be essential.

Responsibilities

  • Developing pricing strategies to meet customers' needs while providing a profit for the organization;
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining pricing infrastructure;
  • Evaluating effectiveness of pricing strategies and modifying pricing structures as needed;
  • Providing reports and documentation of pricing structures;
  • Serving as the point-of-contact for pricing inquiries from internal Sales departments, but not customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, scientific, or business-related field;
  • Solid experience in pricing, strategy, strategy consulting, finance, or similar quantitative discipline;
  • Advanced technical ability in Excel;
  • Good problem-solving mindset and demonstrated ability;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to interpret the results of your analysis and make recommendations;
  • Knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others;
  • Possess in-depth knowledge, experience, and conceptual and practical expertise in own area.
