Introduction to the job

The Release and Deliver domain is part of the IT Research and Development Solution Delivery department which, in turn, belongs to ASML IT. The purpose of the Release & Deliver domain is to deliver state-of-the-art tooling enabling seamless creation of releases and Software packages for ASML TWINSCAN and EUV Source products. The Release and Deliver domain brings value by:

  • Defining SW integration, release and delivery processes related to software and documentation packages creation
  • Creating tooling to implement and automate those release processes while improving cycle times for the ASML software community

The Release and Delivery domain is managed by a domain owner, the overall architecture is driven by the domain architect in collaboration with the team architects of the four teams in the domain. The teams include junior and senior engineers as well as technical specialists.

Role and responsibilities

As Team Architect Patch Generate you will be working in close collaboration with the Team’s product owner, the domain architect, the team architects of the other teams in the domain, the team architects of the teams employing the solution deployed by the Patch Generate team and members.

As Team Architect Patch Generate you'll be the technical leader in the team and act as the technical conscience. Next to that you'll act as team representative at the Train Architect’s Table to convince stakeholders of their vision and the need for change and contribute where possible to the community of practice.

Your roles and responsibility include:

  • Define and communicate a shared technical and architectural vision for the technical scope of the team and takes end to end ownership across products
  • Translate function requirements into requirements for sub-functions or building/engineering blocks using the right documentation and ensure that the function requirements are validated
  • Define the technical roadmap for the team scope and give input to domain roadmap, long-term planning and competence plans
  • Plan and prepare the architectural changes and solutions based on roadmap and business need, supporting the triple constraint;
  • Together with the product owner (PO) and scrum master (SM) align product increment scope with stakeholders balanced across products and in line with long term planning
  • Drive the work breakdown in cooperation with the PO/TL and Engineers in the team. Supporting a fail-fast/learn-fast approach
  • Make appropriate tradeoffs and decisions with the team to guarantee the deliverables meet product requirements

Education and experience

To help us tackle the technical challenges we face, you’ll need experience working on High Tech products and with complex processes. As a Team Architect Patch Generate you’ll need:

  • Background in Software Engineering or Computer Science (MSc.-level)
  • 3+ years proven experience working as software architect working in a highly-complex technical and corporate environment, creating and aligning requirements and designs for SW development environment ecosystems, with a cross-team scope
  • Proven experience in writing technical documents and proven ability to communicate effectively in academic-level English with both technical and business stakeholders
  • Broad software development background with knowledge of backend SW engineering (Python), testing libraries (PyTest and Behave), CLI libraries (Click / Typer), Type Hints (MyPy)
  • A TOGAF and/or Archimate certification is a benefit
