Your role in the story

As Lead Structural Engineering, you will lead our Structural engineering department. You are responsible for steering performance, developing the discipline, and driving technical innovation. Reporting to the Engineering Manager Discipline Engineering, you play a central role in shaping the future of structural engineering across various domains and project phases. You translate strategic goals into concrete actions, guide a team of specialists, and bring structure to complex technical challenges. Our Discipline Engineering Department consists out of five disciplines: Subsea tooling & ROVs and Positioning, Foundation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering and Structural Engineering. These five disciplines offer specialist engineering services to our Product Lines, Commercial Department, Product Development and our Asset organization.

You will be working on:

  • Ensuring effective, efficient, complete, and compliant execution of structural engineering scopes across all supported departments.
  • Leading the development of the structural discipline, including knowledge management, standardization, and tool development.
  • Managing a team of structural engineers, including three team leads responsible for the Product Lines (T&I, Wind, and Decom), and a central core team focused on overarching themes such as development, knowledge capturing, and innovation.
  • Promote value-based decision making, drive innovation within the team, and actively propose improvements to enhance performance effectiveness
  • Champion digital transformation, data-driven work methods, and automation.
  • Aligning tools, standards, and workflows across foreign offices for global consistency.
  • Coordinating education, development, and career planning for structural engineers.
  • Conducting fair and timely performance assessments and aligning with other team leads.
  • Build strong internal and external partnerships to keep the discipline future-ready.
  • Collaborating with Engineering Managers and team leads to forecast and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Support recruitment and ensure capacity aligns with mid- and long-term forecasts.

Key ingredients for success:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of structural engineering principles and execution in an offshore or complex technical environment.
  • Experienced in people management with a proven ability to mentor and inspire teams.
  • Affinity with digitalization and modern engineering tools, and innovation.
  • Proactive, strategic thinker with a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication skills, clear, structured, and engaging.
  • Capable of representing the discipline externally to clients and stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel when required
