Introduction to the job

Raise the bar of portfolio and program management within ASML. Our Program Management Office (PMO) is driving world-class project, program and portfolio management across ASML’s business Lines and Research & Technology. As senior PMO officer you are developing, coaching and guiding new product development and focusing on structural improvements. You will be part of our PMO team of 160 colleagues and will work in one of our 4 different Business Line PMO teams.

Role and responsibilities

Our senior PMO officer is positioned as an independent team member of a business team that is responsible for the development, maintenance and improvement of our state-of-the-art lithography machines. You are focused to manage, together with your business counterpart, a clustering of hardware/software projects which are needed to successfully introduce these next generation machines to our customers.

As senior PMO officer you are:

  • Challenging the triple constraint (scope, timing, budget) as a recognized business partner, to optimize business value
  • Driving effective decision making on all levels as a trusted advisor of the Product Development Manager and his cross sectoral Product Team
  • Acting as the Project Management expert within the cross sectoral Product Team. As a whole, the Product Team, including underlying projects, is responsible for the project deliveries, where our senior PMO officer delivers supportive and controlling aspects
  • Implementing and improving project (program) standards and processes, e.g. related to project planning, financial management, product generation process, reporting, change control, risk management and quality. You are the one preparing and facilitating progress reviews and key decision meetings and actively follow-up on agreements made during these meetings
  • Providing guidance during the financial forecasting (budget) process and proactively assisting regular financial management and reporting
  • Pro-actively connecting, enabling and challenging all stakeholders. Your different stakeholder groups are among others finance counterparts, business line and program counterparts, sector representatives of customer support, and manufacturing.
  • Driving completeness of all inputs from deciders in the product generation process.
  • Growing people and the team competences of PMO and ASML’s Project Management community. e.g. by participating, leading and implementing cross-PMO improvement projects or have a coaching role to develop other PMO officers in your team

Education and experience

To build a strong relationship with your PM stakeholders in ASML’s Business Lines, you’ll need experience working with complex processes and preferably with high tech products. As senior PMO officer, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s- or master’s degree in business administration, Economics, Finance, Project Management, Engineering or other relevant fields
  • At least 5 years of working experience as PM(O) expert in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment, preferably in a high-tech environment
  • Experience to act and influence in a senior stakeholder environment
  • Experience with implementation of change and improvement projects
  • Experience with MS Project Online or a similar tool
  • Experience in an Agile/SAFe environment is preferred

  • Ability to guide, coach and advise at all organizational levels to effect sustainable change and improving the project and process maturity level of the organization

Other information

This is a fulltime position, but working parttime is negotiable as long as you’re available for at least 32 hours. At least 3 days per week you'll be working at our headquarters in Veldhoven.
