Be part of progress at ASML

Introduction

The Tribology and Electrostatics research group of ASML looks into the long-term solution roadmap for ASML. For this purpose, we explore various technological solutions that are not mature yet. We’re pushing the boundaries of innovation—and we’re inviting you to be part of it.

Your Assignment

Currently, we are looking into building a powerful intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI) that will unlock access to over 10 TB of cloud-stored data and images. This tool will empower researchers and engineers to effortlessly search and filter massive datasets, instantly visualize data and images, seamlessly export what they need for deeper analysis.

  • Frontend: Build a responsive and user-friendly interface using modern frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular;
  • Backend: Develop scalable APIs and data services using Python (FastAPI/Flask) or Node.js;
  • Implement intelligent search and indexing (e.g., Elasticsearch);
  • Enable real-time data visualization using libraries like Plotly.js, D3.js, or Three.js;
  • Add export functionality for selected datasets and images.

This is a Bachelor/Master apprentice internship for 3 to 6 months, working minimum 4 days per week. The start date of this internship is as soon as possible or around December-February.

Your Profile

To be a fit for this assignment, you:

  • Are busy with your bachelor's or master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field;
  • Are a creative problem-solver with a passion for clean, user-friendly design;
  • Are skilled in Python and MATLAB;
  • Have an affinity with GUI development;
  • Preferably have some experience with cloud platforms and data visualization libraries;
  • Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written).

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
  • You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate;
  • If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
