Senior Portfolio Management Mortgages

This includes activities like interest rate risk hedging of the mortgage portfolio, credit risk assessments, funding, reporting, and providing insights to management and the board on NIBC’s mortgage portfolio.

What will you do?

As a Senior/Vice President, you will shape strategic initiatives, participate in or lead cross-functional project teams, and foster the growth and development of junior staff. Your expertise will drive the management of our mortgage portfolio, crucial for maintaining our market-leading position in The Netherlands.

Your activities:

• You'll have a key role in Portfolio Management Mortgages. This places you in a position closely to the dynamics of the day-to-day business, leading to a lot of interaction with a wide range of experts.
• Your analytical skills will be put to good use in data requests and modelling, such as forecasting, explanation of results and quantitative support to (new) business cases. Key examples are the risk profile of our mortgage balance, a crucial role in the market valuation of our mortgage loans and providing essential information of the spread/margins development.
• Your primary clients will be the Management Team Mortgages and our Executive Board Members. Due to your contributions they can make strategic decisions. Furthermore, new initiatives are welcomed.
• You will help improve our models both on implementation as well as on methodology. You will work in SQL, Python, PowerBI and Excel. Due to the introduction of a Cloud Data Platform you will focus on automation and improved presentation of figures of our current reports and new insights.
• You will act as a mentor to analysts and associates, enhancing their skills and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
• You will work together with experts from various fields on strategic projects, important for the strategy from NIBC. Additionally and specifically for our team, you work in projects with team members from Product Management and Pricing Analytics.

Your team

You'll work in the Portfolio Management Mortgages team. This team consists currently out of 5 colleagues that work together closely, laugh together and regularly have a social activity together like drinks/dinner. The team is ambitious to improve how we work and what we do. Everyone has a technical background like Mathematics and Econometrics. We are searching for a person who fits in well.

As a sub team of a larger team, you will have additional learning opportunities in Pricing Analytics and Product Management, gaining exposure to a wide range of competencies.

Think YES if you…

• Have at least 5 years of relevant work experience in a subset of the following fields: Basel Framework, hedging, pricing, liquidity risk, behavioural modelling, prepayment risk, valuation of mortgages, structuring and reporting.
• Are fluent in English and Dutch.
• Have a lot of knowledge how mortgage loans work and are curious to learn aspects you are unknown to.
• Enjoy analysing complex numerical problems.
• Are a flexible team player and can manage ad hoc requests and tight deadlines.
• Like taking initiative, are not afraid to ask questions and want to develop yourself.
• Have a commercial mindset, like to work together, have a go-getter attitude and are involved with your team.
• Get excited about helping your colleagues grow in their career.
• Are proficient in Python, SQL and PowerBI (this is strongly preferred).
