The Role

As a Senior Trader EMEA, you are responsible for all facets within trading. You will be working from our office in Alkmaar. This is an on-site position based in our Alkmaar office, where you will be part of our local trading team.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Identifying trade opportunities and market development within EMEA region;
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers;
• Negotiating prices, delivery terms and contracts;
• Coordinating with our logistics department to ensure smooth transaction handling;
• Expanding our customer network in the region;
• Preparing reports and analyses on trading activities.

What we are looking for:

You are a driven professional with proven experience in international trade. You have strong commercial instincts, can spot opportunities, and turn them into business success. You are skilled in negotiation, adaptable in a dynamic environment, and able to think creatively.

We expect you to have:

• At least 5 years of work experience as an EMEA Trader EMEA preferably in the agricultural and/or food industry;
• Minimum HBO degree;
• Knowledge of the EMEA market (an advantage);
• Excellent command of English. French, Spanish and/or German is a plus;
• Strong communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to work independently;
• Willingness to travel within EMEA for customer visits, trade shows and meetings.

Team and location

You will join our trading team of 6 colleagues, led by Mark Weverink (Managing Director EMEA) and Luuk de Bruijn (Commercial Manager EMEA). Our Alkmaar office has 59 colleagues across the departments of Trade, Logistics, Quality, Finance and HR.

We are located at the Overstad business park, a short walk from the city centre and just 10 minutes from Alkmaar station. Parking for cars and bicycles is available under the office.
