Working with electrical engineering: it gives you energy.
And that’s exactly why the role of Commissioning Engineer at ABB is the job you're looking for. In this position, you'll apply your expertise at some of the most unique locations in the Netherlands — and abroad. This means: not working within four walls, but hitting the road daily in your own ABB car to visit clients. The best part of your job? You’re the expert. When installations are handed over, you’re the one who decides whether they can be put into operation. That makes you a key player — for ABB and our customers.
What will you do at ABB?
From low voltage to medium voltage: as a Commissioning Engineer at ABB, you're the go-to expert in the field. As a specialist, you’ll provide advice on expanding or replacing existing low- and medium-voltage installations. To give you the knowledge needed for this, you’ll first receive thorough training. After your training, you’ll begin your work confidently and well-prepared within the Electrification Service Division.
Your team
You’ll be part of a team of around 60 colleagues, including 30 service engineers. Within the team, you’ll find peers with similar expertise, as well as seasoned professionals eager to share their knowledge with you — helping you become our next expert. You’ll receive a solid onboarding before you start, and even after that, your colleagues will always be there to support you. And they’ll expect the same from you. Together, you switch gears quickly. That’s how you ensure a well-functioning team and satisfied customers.
Your role and responsibilities
The work model for the role is hybrid.
What it takes to Run what Runs the World:
Whether you're just starting out or already experienced — you thrive on working with electrical or energy technology. At ABB, you’ll have the opportunity to grow — whether you’re taking your first steps in the field or looking to deepen your expertise. Limited experience? No problem: we’ll provide full training for the role. Already a seasoned professional? Then we offer you the chance to apply and expand your technical knowledge on unique, high-impact projects.
What do we value?
That you enjoy helping others and take ownership of your work. You understand that people will see you as a specialist — and you’re ready to step into that role. Whatever the assignment, you approach it with both hands and always look for a solution. You work well independently, but also know when to team up with colleagues to move forward together.
