Interim Financial Analyst – Data-Centre TCO Projects

Job Title: Interim Financial Analyst

Location: Amsterdam Hybrid

Duration: 8 weeks (option to extend)

Start Date: Late August/ Early Sept

Role Scope

You will join a Riverflex consulting squad supporting a global client that is reassessing the total cost of ownership (TCO) for existing and future data-centre strategy and related projects. Working side-by-side with corporate finance and technology stakeholders, you will build decision-grade financial models and data-driven insights that help leaders make confident cloud-versus-on-prem choices.

Key Responsibilities

  1. TCO & Business-Case Modelling – Build, stress-test and present corporate-finance models (OPEX, CAPEX, depreciation, tax) for data-centre scenarios.

  2. Insightful Dashboards – Translate raw cost and performance data into intuitive dashboards and KPI trackers that enable rapid “what-if” analysis.

  3. Performance Analysis – Evaluate profit & loss, balance-sheet impacts and cross-business-unit performance to surface value drivers and risks.

  4. Investment Storytelling – Package findings into clear investment decks that guide C-suite decisions.

  5. Budget Development – Support estimation of project budgets and ongoing variance tracking.

  6. Collaboration – Work with technology architects, procurement and finance teams to source, clean and harmonise data.

Required Experience & Skills

Must-Have

  • Corporate finance foundation 3–4 years in FP&A, M&A, strategy or similar analyst roles.

  • Coding & data acumen Comfortable writing queries/scripts (Python, SQL) and advanced Excel to automate model refreshes.

  • Financial modelling expertise Experience building end-to-end models for business cases, scenario analysis and KPI tracking.

  • Analytical storytelling Ability to turn complex numbers into crisp, executive-ready narratives and visuals.

Tools & Technologies

  • Python / SQL / Excel (advanced formulas & Power Query)

  • Data-visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)

  • G-Suite / Microsoft 365 for deck creation & collaboration

Optional / Bonus Skills

  • Prior exposure to data-centre economics or cloud-migration costing

  • Experience analysing multi-business-unit performance

  • Familiarity with agile consulting project delivery
